Kobo Aura H2O covers

I ordered the standard Kobo Sleep case with my h2o, it seems decent enough to me.

I hope you will solve it to your satisfaction. I have only good words about the Gecko service. I order a cover, which deteriorated too quickly; they sent a replacement, it developed the same problem; I asked for a different (more expensive) model, and they sent it too with no extra charge. After that, they asked me to send back the first two covers, and offered to pay the shipping expenses (since it was more or less the price difference between the two models, I said it was OK like that).

Tbh I'm suprised at how little they seem to care. I was under the impression from comments on here that they had good customer service. Unfortunately that's not what I am getting

Seems like bad luck, Josie. I also ordered the Gecko H2O Slimfit on 13th Nov but I did receive an apologetic email from them on 21st Nov

A while ago you have ordered a Slimfit cover for Kobo Aura H2O. When you ordered, we expected the cover to be in stock December 3rd. Unfortunately, the design process has had some delay. We will be able to send the cover on December 19th. Please let me know if this delay causes any trouble for you.

Did you check your spam folder? I decided to let my order stand but I did buy a cheap slimfit from ebay to tide me over as I was finding my old Oberon cover (beautiful as it is) a bit cumbersome.

ETA: I paid £7.99 for the cheapo case, in Dark Blue. I see that since then Black and Blue have been increased to £12.99. The neon colours are still £7.99. I guess Black and Blue must be selling faster.

I have Windows live so all my emails from my various email address come into my laptop. I get the spam and they drop into the individual spam folders, I've seen nothing and I ordered on the 9th. None of the emails back and forth now about the refund have dropped into spam so tbh I have no idea what happened, all I know is the first I knew of the problem was my email on the 5th Dec asking if it had been shipped as I hadn't heard anything.

I have the Kobo Sleepcover so I'm fine now. I wanted the Slimfit as it was waterproof but I doubt I'd buy it from them now. I'll use a cheap ebay case on holiday and if it gets damaged I'll just replace it.

If I had received an email like you got I might have waited for it, but I didn't. Tbh I wish I hadn't ordered it at all now. I didn't need this hassle on top of the issues I had with Amazon Square Trade last week. Seems like no one can do a proper job anymore.

Worst case if you like is I could buy one and ship it to you and you could just pay me. It's about $10 to get the case to me from Amazon. Then it's whatever the shipping cost to the UK is.

Thanks, I'll think on it. But Fintie do sell in the UK on Amazon. In fact when I was thinking of getting their Voyage case they told me they ship them from their US warehouse when you about on Amazon UK.

I noticed Cover Up has their non hemp covers on Amazon UK now. I've ordered the red one for £9.95 + £2 postage.

You may not be interested anymore but I received an email which said my Gecko Slimfit despatched yesterday. Fingers crossed it's not a disaster given the delays.

One thing I do not like about the non-hemp covers is that the cover is not consistent. I don't like that it's not the same color inside as out. The black on the inside doesn't work when the outside is a different color.

I finally got a refund but paypal (thankfully) made up the shortfall as Gecko paid me too little by £1.48 then told me it was paypals fault as they were using a worst exchange rate. Personally I think Paypal was very nice to me considering it was Gecko's job to pay me back exactly what I paid them, which was sterling!

I would never buy from them again, not even if it was in stock, they are one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with.

Actually that's what I prefer, especially if it's a cover with a frame the device slips into. I much prefer to have black inside as the black material frame doesn't detract from the reading screen, it blends into the frame. I don't like white stitching which is what I've seen on other cases, but the H20 looks all black.
