I disagree. A tiny minority side-loads books. Most buy directly from Amazon, which is the Kindle's intended purpose.

What was nonsense (and still is), was your suggestion that sideloading is only a byproduct of the need to connect a charging cable. Also nonsensical is the idea that the elimination of a charging cable need automatically spell the end of sideloading.

Here is a wrench in your logic. Last time my Kindle app updated to 4.8.0.188 on Android the other day, Amazon added a feature, not take it away. X-ray now works. What is also pretty cool, imo, that x-ray is greyed out past the last read location. So you don't get a spoiler looking up a character that disappears (dead?) next chapter.

If it ever happens that your eyes force you to use large print I don't think you will be happy with the giant steps between the two or three largest fonts.

I have heard that said, it is something to think about... but I hope it never gets to that point.

Somehow I doubt this is the major source of typography complaints on this thread.

By the time my body forces me to use large prints, I'll buy a large reading device or an audio device... No way I'm going to use anything but the smaller fonts on a 6" screen!

I'd consider a larger screen if necessary (right now I'm very happy with my H2O and even my six inch Aura and Voyage) but I hope I never have to resort to audio books. Every time I've tried to listen to a book my mind has wandered and I've totally lost track of what's been read.

I'm a very inefficient reader. Even on a six inch screen I like the title on the top of the screen, the page info on the bottom, and lots of empty space everywhere. Looking at the pictures people have posted here of screens with densely packed text gives me claustrophobia.

When I'm forced to read printed material with small print or without much space between lines I have to use my finger to keep my place; otherwise I transpose numbers and drift from one line to another.

Fortunately for me, ebooks arrived right about the time I started having trouble reading paperbacks. (need emoticon for happy, happy, happy)!
