Anybody had any issues w/ the recent T62C updates done over the air ?

I actually have done the upgrade, and it did upgrade ok.
However it seems I have lost root (predictable) but I can't put it back though

Going through the check-list in OP (which went smoothly first time I rooted) doesn't seem to have any effect ...

What kind of problems are you having? Are root apps not working or is the problem the Play store? After doing one of the E653 updates I needed to uninstall and reinstall some of the Google stuff before it worked again.

After upgrading I lost the root.
And I couldn't put it back the way it's described in the first post of this thread.

But now I got it back.

In the mean time I factory reset the device too.

The Super-SU was not doing its thing. And everytime I would go into it it would ask to do it again. Which it means that something was not getting installed properly.

I think what broke it through was that I logged in the Google Play store at some point (didn't do that before) and Super-SU got updated and then it worked.

(However I also poked into all the buttons in the Root Master out of desperation).

Long evening ...
And I really don't see any changes due to the firmware upgrade :|

OK some help please. I'm not quite a newb but nearly, in the last few days I have learnt about adb and rkbatchtool. I have read all 11 pages of this forum but am still not quite there. You see I too flashed an image that left my touchscreen unusable. I see that others have finally solved the problem with the latest "c" firmware from Baidu. I have downloaded this but can't get rkbatchtool to flash it. I manage to get the thing to go green so that must be working right? Only very occasionally find I get to see the little android lying on his back tho - not sure why, usually it just displays the icarus boot screen loading and freezes. I downloaded and unzipped the rar file. In the main directory I can see 2 .IMG files. One is called boot. IMG and there is another smaller.img file. I have tried flashing both of these. No success! Any help would be really appreciated as I'd love to have my reader back. Thanks

Does the device boot? I honestly haven't tried to use rkbatchtool so I cant be of any help there, but try to download a different firmware( maybe the one I posted a few posts back) and keep trying.

I have a T62 and tried to install the update of the link provided in the first page by nightboy.

As soon as the device was updated, got bricked. The screen does not respond.

I tried to follow the steps to unbrick using RKBatchTool, but the icon is aways pink, it never gets green, even pressing the refresh button.

I can't also turn off the device, because when I hold the power button, it restarts the device, not turn it off.

What can I do ? I just received my T62 today, after 1 month waiting...

Update: In my home now, my laptop dont even recognize the T62, RKBatchTool not even turning pink.

Please, anybody can help me ?

Using adb I could enter in Bootloader mode, but flashing nightboy's firmware in the first page, It installed a chinese version of the firmare, and the screen is still not responding. Where can I found the correct firmware to update my T62?

Do you know which exact model number of T62 you have ?
Which firmware did you install initially ?
Which firmware did you install using RKBatchTool ?

Hi, dnastase. Thanks so much for your reply. First I installed nightboy's update .zip in the main post, and then the screen became useless.
After that, I RKBatchTool the image file of the same post. And then, not only the screen are useless, but also the menu is in Chinese.

The only number I have found in the device is this: T62: 021014092500359.

What I need is a link to a good firmware image to RKBatchTool in the T62.
Can you help me ?

I think the first post should be edited to warn people to check their version of T62 before flashing any kind of firmware on the device, seems that there are at least different touchscreen drivers and that makes flashing dangerous

In fact I didnt use this link to download the firmware, it was too slow. I used this instead:

Downloaded the firmware, flash it with RKBatchTool. The language is chinese, but you can set it to English using the manual (http://goo.gl/XH0eIs ) to navigate in the chinese menu.
I agree with you. The first post is too dangerours (even murderous!!). Should be changed.
