That's the same reason they made Barney purple. He started out as grey but grey doesn't show up very well on video so they made him purple. And the magic slippers in "The Wizard of Oz" were silver but they wouldn't have shown up on the screen so the color was changed to ruby red.

New trivia (and not about sugar this time): According to The Word Museum, an archaic definition of barnacle-goose is a bird that was believed to be generated out of wood, or rather a species of shell often found sticking to the bottoms of ships; it was also called a tree-goose. I too have a guitar and keyboards. I'm nearing the stage where I can compose average to good songs. I mean to perform my original songs in public some time in the future.
Now for my trivia : The first person to use the expression OMG (to mean "oh my god") was thought to be Lord Fisher when he was in communication with Winston Churchill in 1917. |

Trying To Get The Feeling Again, a hit for Barry Manilow, was written for and first recorded by the Carpenters.

According to The Word Museum, the word beblubbered simply means swollen. (Personally, I prefer beblubbered to swollen.) Last edited by trichobezoar; 12-11-2014 at 03:21 PM. |

"beblubbered" I LOVE it! I can't wait to use it on the Docs the next time I'm told I should be healed by now!

The chainsaw was originally invented, in 1783, as a medical instrument to assist with childbirth. (don't ask for more details, I'd be told off by the admins).

I can imagine why the 'proof' of his invention of the hard hat doesn't exist. The nazi's probably would have destroyed any such proof that a man of Jewish heritage could do any such thing.

The only number which, when written out in English is in alphabetical order, is forty.

The final level in Pac-Man is level 256 due to a error in the program (which generates a screen which can't be cleared).

There has been no religion in the world discovered to have jackal-headed gods. Anubis of Ancient Egypt was wolf-headed, since no jackals, from a zoological point of view, properly existed in Egypt during the time of the Ancient Egyptians according to research that has been conducted on canid DNA.
