It's ok for $19. But this Stick and the Roku stick both have issues that we don't have with our Roku boxes.

What type/brand router to you have? How far? Any obstacles in the way? Or it could be a channel conflict thing. The sticks are small and don't have much room inside for antennas... Last edited by fjtorres; 12-04-2014 at 06:58 AM.

That was our thought, that the antennas aren't that great.

There's a few free ones on the Amazon app store that will run on your HD6. Like this one: http://www.amazon.com/x8881-x6653-x8.../dp/B004EBZX6W They will tell you the signal strength of the different wifi channels in case you are getting interference from an appliance or a neighbor's router.

With what? The stick? It should work with Booklover6's HD6. It works on my HD8.9... Last edited by fjtorres; 12-04-2014 at 01:10 PM. |

Yes that app works on my Fire HD 6. I went out and bought a new, more powerful router. Will report back on it's effect, if any, on the Fire Stick, later. |

I'll be very curious about how this works out. The TV I was going to use it on it about 25' away from the router in the next room, so there's also walls in the way. I have zero problems with the wifi in that room when connected to a phone or tablet though, but if it's going to be a problem for the Fire stick, I just might cancel it.

Last year I picked up this wi-fi range extender when I needed more coverage and didn't want to bother repositioning or replacing my router. It was easy to set up and has worked perfectly.

I live in a 750Sq foot apartment so no problems with WiFi range. Router is about two feet in front of me and about 20 feet from the TV. So if I get any WiFi problems with mine I know it's defective.

There are a lot more issues with WiFi than range. Get a WiFi analyzer for one of your tablets and see if other apartment complex are competing with you for channel allocation. If your router experiences a lot of damaged packets or collisions, it will slow down its transmission rate which is not good for streaming media.

If it is not one of the new AC routers, bring it back and get an AC router. AC is a very worthwhile upgrade.

But if you have no AC gear, why not save money by getting a now-lower priced N router, and when you eventually do have AC devices, AC routers should be improved and less expensive.

The AC routers have a lot of other improvements. We went from two WLANS to one when we upgraded. Virtually unlimited WiFi connections. No dead spots in the house. I usually lag on technology, but these routers are very good. Here is the one I have... NETGEAR AC1750 Dual Band WiFi Gigabit Router R6300 |
