				Appcrash(es) 0.8.2 - Downgrade to 0.7.X?

			Hi,

using Sigil 0.8.2 and 0.8.1 on a win7-32 computer i expierence problems with app crashes Problemereignisname: APPCRASH Anwendungsname: Sigil.exe Anwendungsversion: 0.8.2.0 Anwendungszeitstempel: 5478f346 Fehlermodulname: Qt5WebKit.dll Fehlermodulversion: 5.3.2.0 deleting files in the opened epub or if i try to open an existing epub while already running sigil with an epub book opened. So I want to go back to 0.7.X which was working without causing any crashes. Worked like a charm. I want this 0.7.X version back. Where can i get the 0.7.X files downgrading sigil? Anything to have in mind downgrading and deinstall Sigil 0.8.2? Thank you Buchstabensalat |

The earlier releases are still on Google Code:

https://code.google.com/p/sigil/down...+DownloadCount The updated Sigil works fine on my Win 7 32-bit box, but I certainly understand your frustration. An earlier version of Sigil just wouldn't run on my Win XP computer. |

If you'd like one more shot at v0.8.x, try giving the unofficial legacy windows version a shot.

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=247156 Not that you have a legacy version of Windows or anything, but because that build uses a different pre-compiled version of Qt5.3.2 (VS2010/OpenGL vs VS2013/ANGLE). |

			Hi,

I am using windows 7 32 bit and not xp! before deinstall. of .8.2 finally I made some additional tests and found, if the focus (->see the file in preview) was on the file I tried to delete, sigil crashed 100%, if the focus was not on the file I wanted to deleted from the epub, sigil sometimes crashed and sometimes not. The epub file passed Flight crew with no issues, kindlegen conversion passed without issues ... |

Hence why I said; "Not that you have a legacy version of Windows or anything." The legacy version is not limited in any way. It will run fine on newer versions of Windows, too. It's just built in a way that does not automatically exclude XP SP3 machines. Quote:

Also, did you happen to delete the user data before installing 0.8.x to see if that made a difference? I only mention it because you said you deleted it before going back to 0.7.x. Last edited by DiapDealer; 12-04-2014 at 10:58 AM. |

All the older versions are still available where you (should have) downloaded them from originally.

https://code.google.com/p/sigil/downloads/list Just switch from "Current downloads" to "All downloads" and click search. Last edited by Dr. Drib; 01-15-2015 at 02:12 PM. |

Sigil .8.x also crashed frequently (~70% i feel) if I tried to open an existing epub from the file open menue with Sigil .8.x running already a different epub file. Opening Sigil .8.x and opening thru file file/open never caused appcrashes. both issues (1. crashes deleting files from an epub and 2. crashes when opening an existing file) made me believe that .8.x isn`t stable for my computer and got back to 0.7.4 which I believe is stable as I worked with this version long time without having crashes. Thank you all developers for making this software running

I wonder if Microsoft's "Problem Steps Recorder" tool in Windows 7 could help document the issue.

See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/w...steps-recorder for how to invoke it. |
