I think they are both the same. They certainly use the same TTS voice but you'll need to check the specs to see if the 7 has better speakers than the 6. You only get one voice. A female. I think on last years HDX you get a choice of voices but I have the HD6 and it's only the one,

im upgrading the kf as there a big weght difference and its light enough now i can hold it.
which means on less dock stand infont of me . Love the voice on the kf s

but dont think i can use my old case?

Wish I could do that on my 2012 HD 7 .... only have male female choice But Honestly not bad at least I can match Voice with sex of reader hehehe
sain Why don't you go to a store & test them. That away you can pick which sounds Best to you.
