About 8:30am this morning (Sunday), the doorbell rang. Turns out it was the H2O arriving. I was very surprised given that it's USPS and it's Sunday.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions.

I'll need to give this thread another go over before I patch.

Some of the settings are not optimal to me. Now that I've patched using mostly the default settings, things are better.

Yes, it only affects books as they are sent to the device. The details are in the announcement post for that feature. And there is some discussion following it. Have a read of that and see if it answers your questions.

The other possibility is if you are using kepubs. There is a user styles file that can override the settings in the books. It doesn't override everything, but it can help. And it completely escapes me what the name of the file is. A search should find it.

If you are talking about kepub-book.css, the last FW it worked was 3.2.0, if I remember correctly.

I hadn't noticed that. I knew the widows and orphans wasn't working, but don't remember hearing that the rest was being ignored. I've done some testing, and it is being ignored.

Hi GeoffR,
Thanks very much for your patches. I tried it on my Kobo H2O, and it looks much better.
And I have 2 questions for pdf files.
1. When I zoom in or out the pdf file by clicking "+" or "-", it increases or decrease by 50% on one click. Can I change it to 1% on each click while zooming the pdf file? Just like the "patch_name = `Brightness fine control`", which increases or decreases the Brightness by 1% on each click.
2. Some pdf files are "in light color". I mean the fonts are in gray, are not dark enough. Can I change the darkness of the fonts of pdf files, and make the content of pdf file display more clearly on the Kobo ereader?

hi

I'm asking this question for one of my friends
he has kobo touch with 3.11 firmware tries to patch to have Persian keyboard

there are 2 issues :
first kobo touch 3.11 doesn't accept typed character instead of cyrilic , and only accept UTF-8 code ( its solved )
but he can't search with Persian/Arabic keyboard in kobo library ( I can do on H2O in firmware 3.12 till 3.15 )

and another thing is when he tries to add other patches at the end of patch file he get error and only can edit existent patches
