I never heard of the term "truck garden" so I looked it up. Apparently, it's a regional expression.

I updated a couple art books I got in 2012 on Amazon last week. The only way I knew there where updates available was because I was looking for Japanese Woodblock art books and saw that the publisher of these was updating there older books with High-Res images and more content.

Where do the updated versions get sent? I always download my books for USB transfer and sideload my Kindles from Calibre. I never turn wifi on so I've always thought there was no way for me to use the auto update service.

They get sent over WiFi. AFAIK they don't even email you to let you know there is an update, let alone email the updated version.

Thanks Little.Egret. I never thought of that. I do have the app on my phone. I rarely use it but it should work to check for the updates. The first pass will take a while but after that I should be able to keep up with it. |

Well, they will send an email SOMETIMES. I've gotten an email before. But it's rare. I think the changes have to be pretty large or the publisher has to request it. I'm not sure, but I know it can happen because I've gotten two emails letting me know a book had been updated.

They get sent to wherever you sent the original book to. I send all my books to "Kindle for PC", so that's where I get my updates. It's not necessary to have WiFi turned on on your Kindle.

Thanks. I uninstalled my Kindle for PC app a while ago because in some bizarre way it caused my plugins to stop working. I know that makes no sense but the plugins not only stopped working for Kindle books but for all other formats as well. After the panic-attack subsided I uninstalled Kindle for PC rather than trying to debug because I didn't want to make things worse. As soon as I uninstalled it the plugins started working again.
