Transferring settings to a new Fire
Two of my kids had to get their Fires replaced as they were rebooting themselves frequently (the Fires, not the kids :P ). I know it's a simple matter to redownload apps/books etc, but is there any way to transfer the data from those apps? My daughter is particularly concerned about her web browser favorites and progress in games.

Reboot your daughter and everything will be new to her

...otherwise, I have no idea.

Which Fires do they have? If they have the new 2014 versions go to Settings - Device Options - Backup & Restore - Backup Now. When they get the new device go to the same setting and click Restore. Though if memory serves the User Guide says it is supposed to ask the user if they want to restore from a backup or start new when it is first registered.

I'm pretty sure they're the 2013 model (they got them for Christmas last year). We checked the settings, there's no backup/restore options there.

In that case you may want to download an app to back them up or connect them to the computer and back them up via the usb.

Upgrade first to 4.1.1 or 4.5.1 Fire OS and there is Backup/Restore...
