1. BlackFriday1 -free eBook w/ any order of $50+
2. BlackFriday2 -extra 25% off any order of $25+
3. BlackFriday3 -$2 off any order of $20+

Coupon #2 would seem to be the best value, as 25% of $25+ works out to at least $6.25, if I haven't messed up my math, which is easily the price of a free book already and you can load up the cart (and presumably it stacks with the current 30% off Thanksgiving weekend auto-discount).

Apparently there were some problems with them earlier, but they say they should be working now. (Also, at them for saying right on the storefront page that you should sign up for their newsletter in order to receive special newsletter-only discounts for Black Friday, and then actually putting the discount information on Twitter only. This is not a good way to encourage sales, IMHO, if your customers cannot easily find the special sale info where they might reasonably expect it to be. )

ETA: I agree with your comments once again, I wish it was just a bit more scheduled/organized but that could just be my slight OCD tendencies. If you haven't already picked them up, there's some freebie short stories by Garrett Leigh over at Dreamspinner currently under their Free Fiction tag, which has gotten a few more titles since last I checked their site.

I found out that the author whose gay werecat paranormal investigative murder mystery series I was going to catch-up with has been moved to a spin-off non-primarily-romance-oriented LGBT imprint, DSP Publications, and thus their books are no longer available in the main Dreamspinner webstore (and the new one doesn't sell directly yet). With the 25% off $25+ it would have worked out to an effective 44% discount, too.

But as it turns out, she does still have a new-to-me freebie short in the series available at their store: Infected: The Lost Weekend by Andrea Speed.

And the books are currently DRM-free and couponable at Kobo and the 1st-in-series is on sale for just 99 cents or so, if anyone's interested: Infected: Prey

This was given away as a holiday freebie several years ago (back when they still announced them in the newsletter ) and I really enjoyed it when I read it, enough to scoop all the then-available sequels via Fictionwise while they were still around.

I'll warn that they're not very romance-y at all, although there are relationships which are drawn pretty well, IMHO.

Thanks, I grabbed the Garrett Leigh freebies you mentioned. I find myself veering away from paranormals more and more lately, and suspense hasn't really been my thing for a long time [since Sidney Sheldon days, way back when]. But I thank you again for the recommendations.



Just wanted to say that anyone who was wondering about Christina Lauren's Sweet Filthy Boy for $2, I'm 1/3 through and really enjoying it. So far it's looking like a 4 star IMO

Has anyone seen the Black Friday sale at Kobo? (www.kobo.com/blackfridaysale) Unfortunately, the page is "Not Available" again to me, even if I'm signed in with my US account. It probably recognizes the IP address or something.

Usually I can't access a promo page if I click the link from the main page. However, I can usually access the list of selected titles if someone posts the direct link to the page. I don't know why it's like that, but that's how it works on my end.

So...can someone access the page and maybe post the specific link here? Much appreciated.

Assorted fiction, Mystery, Romance, Non-fiction, Kids/YA. There's some pretty decent stuff in there, and much of it couponable.

If no one else beats me to it, later I'll see if the links/selection changes with different regional IPs, since Kobo's sale is good through Sunday. (Right now I'm doing sampling/triage on possibly 1-day-sale-BF-only titles I'm thinking of getting whose store servers probably all switch over at 9 Pacific Time.)

Incidentally, George R. R. Martin's The World of Ice and Fire did indeed drop back to match the US Google Play promo price, and this time I promptly snapped it up (and scored a sweet deal from Chapters on the hardcover as well, and if Archambault gives me a nice coupon, I'll be able to get a good deal on the French translation as well).
