The cold that's been trying to break through for weeks now has finally gotten a hold of me. Overnight I lost my voice, my throat is all swollen and sore and my brains feel like they've been replaced by cotton wool. Blergh.

In the store my father tries to help the customers, but when it's busy I also have to help. Today I got both complements that I sound very sexy and complaints that I didn't speak up loud enough (I would if I could). Luckily, tomorrow I only work until 2pm. After that I'll curl up in bed with my Kindle and a big mug of tea.

Really? Are you using Tapatalk, by any chance? When I use that on my iPad or phone, I always have to go into web view or open the page in a browser to give karma.

What the hell happened to TV coverage of the Macy's Thanksgiving parade??? I wait all year for this! Yes, I know it's old fashioned, cheesy, etc. But I like the balloons, the marching bands, etc.

So - NBC is broadcasting scenes from Broadway shows - one after the other - with the parade in the distant background.

CBS coverage is staying in the broadcast booth - focused on the guests - promoting new TV shows! With the balloons in the background!

I don't care about these talking heads! I want to see the parade! Now!

This is the end of an era for me!

This morning I put new batteries in my hearing aids and within an hour I heard a voice in my head saying, "Battery Low."

Um, more bad news... The stove stopped working today, of all days. We were about to put the turkey in the oven and it wouldn't turn on. We've had that stove since 1979... I wonder if it's an omen of sorts. Once in a while when things aren't going well in relationships (it's happened a few times with romantic relationships), a device of mine breaks or something that has sentimental value stops working. My niece, who's an alcoholic and has severe PTSD (she's belligerent at times), is moving in with us again... today. Maybe this has something to do with the dream I had a few days ago--about one foot to two feet of snow being on the ground while it was Spring outside. This house is gonna be as cold as ice throughout the winter with her around.

I will not put up with histrionic behavior anymore. I will ignore it or walk away--avoid it as much as possible... or face it head on as honestly as I could (come what may).

WT Sharpe, I accessed the forum through a web browser. I was actually able to give karma, but not leave a message. I rather like leaving messages when I give karma. : ) It's just a minor glitch in the system.

'Hope y'all have a Happy Thanksgiving... Me? I'll be learning how to meditate according to The Silva Method for a bit. 'Have to deal with this stress somehow.

I found the same issue with my Nexus 7. What I've found, is that long pressing on the karma icon and choosing "Open Link in New Tab" will open the karma giving box in a new broweer tab and allow you to input both the amount of karma and a comment.

Hope that works for you too.

NB. And you just got some karma from me when I tested that the above works!

I've had it with extreme right wing nut bags, racists, and dime store Supreme Court justices.!

Thanksgiving at my place this year with two extended families in attendance. The good spending some time with people I'll only see once this year. The bad . . .. For the last time I swear, I had graduated and left Berkeley long before the city changed Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples' Day. True I've got no problem with the change, but mainly don't give a f___.

I need a couple of more glasses of wine.

The hacked browser -- ancient -- on my Kindle Touch, is capable of displaying the karma popout correctly, but newfangled browsers on smartphones are too dumb to figure it out?

I mean, yeah popup dialogs appear as a box in the corner, but they do show up -- and the karma button opens a flyout instead of a popup.
