Office 365 / 1TB OneDrive Deals

If you're in the market for either lots of cloud storage or an Office 365 subscription, consider getting it as part of a Windows tablet or computer purchase that bundles it in for free. There are lots of possible scenarios, so I only list a few.

For cloud storage, the best bang for your buck is Microsoft OneDrive. For $70 a year, you get 1TB of storage. Included in that deal is a free one-year subscription to Office 365 Personal. Or if you need Office 365 ($70/yr); you get 1TB OneDrive for free.

But before getting the above, consider tablet and PC offers that bundle in a free one-year subscription to Office 365 Personal/ 1TB OneDrive ($70 value).

For example:

• HP Stream 13 Laptop --> $104 = $229 - $30 discount - $25 WinGC - $70 Ofc 365
• HP Stream 7 Tablet --> $29 = $99 - $70 Ofc 365

Plus numerous other deals for other PCs and tablets. Some on sale, some not.

The key thing to remember is that you're coming into this because you need Office 365 or you need lots of cloud storage at a good price. Then and only then are the above examples true deals.

Here's an example how Prime Early Access Deals penalize people without Prime. The 64GB USB 3 Drive ($25) sold out in a matter of minutes. Non-Prime members (have to wait 30 minutes) are out of luck on this deal. The 32GB version ($15) is still available, but quickly selling out (58% claimed)

I got one of the 64GB versions and I'll slot it permanently into my Chromebook.


edit: non-Prime members were just allowed (7:10am PT) into the flash drive deal and it was 74% sold. In 8 minutes it was sold out.

Online Black Friday sales have already started at many stores. There's no rhyme or reason as to what they'll offer, how many times they'll offer it, or when they'll offer it.

The best thing to do is to go to the major technology stores and see what's currently on sale and do so several times a day. When I see a good deal on something, I'll post it.

So only 15% off. That's in line with everyone else. Even Costco went from 20% to 15%. And here I thought that it was such a super deal. I've noticed a few other prices that ended up being less than depicted in the leaked ads.

LG Volt -- no-contract phone on sale

Of all the no-contract phones under $50 being offered this Black Friday, the best one (IMO) is the LG Volt. It just went on sale at Kmart and RadioShack. Spec wise, it's very similar to the Moto G LTE; except the display on the Volt (234ppi) is worse than the Moto (326ppi).
