I just got another 500 coins for free and have no idea where they came from. Can anyone shed some light on this? The only thing I've done differently is to set up my new Fire HD 6.

Might be that, I'll let you know if I get some when I setup that Paperwhite I bought for Mom. (Which will probably be Monday or Tuesday.)

Look for a free app offer later today, related to an offer including songs, apps, and an Audible offer originally posted in the Audible deals thread.

Go to the main Amazon App Store page. Above the free app of the day is a small banner "Verizon Connection Day" which has a big long ugly URL, which probably has all sorts of stuff in it that I'm not supposed to post here.

It looks like the promotion pages are still being worked on. It includes free songs (both normal and Prime) and free apps as well as the Audible offer. When I first went to the page, the songs showed up but the apps section was blank. After I "bought" some of the songs, I reloaded the page to see if the apps would show. Instead, the normal songs disappeared and the only things showing were the Prime songs and the Audible offer.

Update: Okay, weirdly, the apps on the Verizon offer page still won't show up for me in Firefox but do show in IE. Anyway, here are the titles:

Sonic The Hedgehog 2
KAYAK PRO
Rayman Jungle Run
Daniel Tiger's Day & Night
Cut the Rope
Perfectly Clear
Docs To Go Premium Key
Alarm Clock Xtreme
Daily Workouts

Most have been previously offered for free. Cut the Rope is the only one I wanted that I didn't already have.

Thanks for the tip on using IE. I had the same Firefox problem you did. I already had 9 of the apps. I didn't have Daniel Tiger, so I pounced on it.

What's really stupid is when I copy/pasted the links in from IE (NOT logged in), they show as free in Firefox.

Well, I was going to pick up that free issue of Wired, but it won't let me. Apparently despite my having a Kindle Paperwhite on my account now, it's not compatible. But it specifically lists the Kindle as a compatible device. So the lower quality eInk screen's fine but the higher quality one isn't?

Also, totally disses the first gen Kindle Fire as incompatible too...

Yeah, that's kinda broken. Guess it's a good thing I didn't want it very badly.

Amusingly I figure this is perfectly apropos for a promotion from Verizon, given their normal stellar customer service quality.

I missed that. Such tiny print at the bottom. It's as if they didn't want very many people to take advantage of their offers.
