Well, I finally jumped in on the Voyage.

I was due to resign up for Amazon Prime and they have the $40 off a Kindle deal so I went for it.
Also, they are (hopefully) giving my $63 for my 1st Gen Kindle Paperwhite and the 4 payment plan which finally convinced me.

I love my PaperWhite but it doesn't look like Amazon will update it much anymore.

Now to find a case.

I think you can get around it buy buying a Prime gift card for your next renewal, since the deal ends today (I think).

So happy that my shipment time got bumped up from Dec 9th to the Nov 25th.

Oops, nevermind, that was for the FireStick, wishful thinking, I guess.

Because of the flip style cover, the Origami cover had a tendency to slide off the front of my Voyage. The cover slid from side to side quite easily, so tossing it in my bag with a cover that was liable to slide back and forth seemed like a bad idea.
I was afraid the cover would slide off the screen and something inside my bag would scrathc or damage the screen.

No, I fold the cover back. But I still prefer the book style cover. I prefer to open my Kindle that was and I also feel that the book style cover is more secure.

It's all in how you tilt the cover.

Something that's not possible with a flip cover.

The bottom line is that Amazon should have produced a book style cover to go along side the origami. They didn't so they lost sales.

The odds are that most people buying an official case are doing so because it is the official case rather than it being down to a particular style, so they probably lost a negligible amount of sales compared with the additional costs from designing and releasing multiple styles of case.

There are benefits to both styles of case, but the reality is that there are going to be a lot of book-style cases out there anyway, so you can understand why they went with the origami one.
