Now that you mention it, that's not an E-ink screen.

it is an epaper screen, yes, but the screen is a knockoff manufactured by the Chinese competitor.

Have you been able to determine the equivalent E Ink based on contrast, speed, ppi, capabilities, etc.

That's certainly rather low by current standards: the same as the original Kindle 3, etc.
