My cross cut shredder has a CD/DVD slot.
That is also used for credit/ID cards. (Remember when we just cut them in half and that was enough )

Mine does too. I used to cut them into pieces and the force would send the pieces flying all over the room.

I do. I might also leave my e-ink reader in a car, or in a rucksack outside next to a ski-lift station when I go skiing. The refresh is noticeably slower, but so far even -20 centigrade did not damage .

I try not to leave my reader in a car in summer, and when I have to I put it in a heavy box under some clothes in a trunk. I used to leave my reader in a [zipped-up] tent in the summer - again in a box and usually rolled up in my sleeping bag.

I have even used my e-ink reader in an infra sauna, with temperatures up to 60°C, for up to 25 minutes. I do not do that anymore, but the reader survived a few such sessions.

Generally no, for both Celsius and Fahrenheit scales. I do however walk to my car or the metro and I try my best to always have something to read.

Yes. I do. Because I carpool and have to wait for my car to arrive. I could stand around, staring in the distance, or I could read

But to the original question:

Yes. Though, not so much cold weather as weather in general.

When it's wet, I'll go listen to an audiobook, I don't want my reader to get wet. When it's well below the freezing temperature of water, I'll probably listen to an audiobook as well, because I want to keep my hands warmly tucked in. And when it's too dark to read (in mid winter, it gets dark around 4), my e-ink reader isn't really visible anymore.

Otherwise, I'll read from my BeBook Mini.

When it's cooler, (not that cool given that I live in Sydney), I will read Scribd books on my tablet. I don't like to use it on days when it gets to 43C like it did last week. I don't ever worry about cold affecting anything electronic. I just worry about things breaking down because they get too hot.

Heh, last year's Ohio winter was actually colder than the summers I spent in Antarctica. I think I bricked an e-ink device last year due to the cold and I wonder if the one I bricked down south was for the same reason. *That* was painful - it broke in January so I was reading off my laptop until I got home in April.

I bump into things even when I'm looking where I'm going. If I tried to read while walking I'd probably trip and fall after about the first two steps.

The only place I've ever tried reading while walking is when I go for a walk at lunchtime at work. The building has a big car-park, which is always completely empty at the back, so I just walk up and down that for half an hour, while reading. Nothing to bump into or trip over .
