My summary this week is brief. No purchased book and a flood of Nalini Singh's. I'm waiting for the book next week and.... I want Naasir's story.

Weekly Report:
No new purchases for me either. Just added one freebie. Read:
ETA: I did get the new Calibre library set up relatively quickly (took me about 3 hours most of that just double checking everything). So now I have 4 Calibre libraries: Calibre Library, Calibre Vault, Calibre Warehouse, and Calibre Undetermined. I add almost all of the books* first to Calibre Warehouse which includes a custom column for where the book was purchased (or a freebie from). Then the book is copied to either the main Calibre Library (where most of books are kept and all included on my Sony even though I don’t use that device as much as I used to), the Calibre Vault (books by authors I just don’t reread very often but I want to keep. It used to be only books I’ve read but now includes some still in my TBR), or the new Calibre Undetermined which is where I keep the books by new-to-me authors. Once I’ve read a book here it will be moved to either the main library, the vault, or simply deleted. *There are some books in my main library which are not in the Warehouse. These are books I’ve created myself from free website short stories or deleted scenes (such as all of Nalini Singh’s Phy/Changeling stuff, free on-line reads at Harlequin which are part of series, etc). The Calibre Library and Calibre Vault both have custom columns for Grade (letter grade to go with the star rating), Date First Read, and Read (yes/no column but either blank or green checkmark for Yes). The Vault also has a custom column for Archive Date. All in all, I think I'm done tweaking. I sure hope so anyway. Though I did plan all of the tags I wanted to use before I started using Calibre (I am super strict about them), I couldn't have planned the custom column stuff even if I'd wanted to as Calibre didn't have the feature back when I started using it. So my comfort level and organizational efforts have grown along with the program. Last edited by library addict; 11-23-2014 at 02:48 PM. |

That's not my experience: I usually add free books to my Smashwords library and download them at the same time, but once I have added them to my library I have been able to download them again any later time I wanted, no matter if the price had risen again since then.

![]() Exactly! I'm not sure if I want to buy from Ellora's Cave. And their books are often much more pricey. |

Free from the author via KDP Select @ Amazon:
Rosebud by Faye Adams, 1st in her Triple X Texas Women trilogy of f/m Civil War-set wild western historical romances, which sound like they should be a lot pornier (and more f/f-action oriented) then they probably actually are, this installment originally out from Pocket Books in 1994. The Triple X cattle ranch is Rachel’s. Her parents are buried in its hot Texas soil. Her own blood, sweat and tears have mixed with the dirt beneath her feet. She’s strong, independent, intelligent, beautiful and completely capable of running the ranch alone…and that’s the way she likes it. She certainly doesn’t need a partner, not even a handsome, sexy partner who seems to have a legal right to claim half ownership in her ranch. She’s determined to rid herself of this nuisance, even if she has to shoot him to get him off her land. The fact that their standoff is heated by lust only aggravates her more. Sin has nothing left. The Civil War is winding down to a sad ending and this chance at the Triple X is his last. But Rachel is a surprise. He’s never met anyone like her. She doesn’t need his….or any man’s help running the Triple X. But maybe she needs something else from him? Free from the author via KDP Select @ Amazon: Taken by the Beast by Dawn Michelle, a prequel to her Claimed by the Beast series of f/m (maybe f/m/m) historical paranormal apparently-shapeshifter romances that probably are as porny as they sound, out from small publisher Novel Concepts, who used to be available on Fictionwise. Adrian and Guntar came from the old world. Natives of central Europe, they escaped the cruel slaughter of their kind and fled to the new world in search of a new life and new love. A native woman, beautiful and wise beyond her years, soon caught Adrian in her spell. Content with the fruitful lives of fur traders, and with a young woman to soon call wife, both men were caught unawares when war broke out. The American revolution brought more than unrest, it brought reinforcements from England that included the very threats they'd fled from. Harassed again in America, they must choose whether they have room left to run, or if it's time to stand and face the greatest monster their kind has ever known. Free from the author via KDP Select @ Amazon: Tides of Autumn by Amanda McIntyre, an f/m contemporary romantic suspense. McIntyre has had stories appear in anthologies by small press Decadent Publishing (who've given us a fair amount of KDP Select freebies in the past), and a novel paperbacked by Venus Press in the mid-2000s. Sometimes the tide brings in the unexpected... Recently widowed, Darci Cunningham swims against popular current that she should take her time and heal after the sudden death of her husband. But in a bold turn, she decides to follow a dream set aside and moves to Mackinac Island to pursue her dream of writing. But as she prepares for her first winter on the island, she is unaware of the dangers that have washed ashore--one that may steal her heart, while the other may steal her life.
