Ordering reader from Kobo Store - Page 6

I also emailed Chapters requesting a tracking number shortly after judith009. I received the automated response about receiving my inquiry about an hour later but I also haven't gotten any actual response from them either. There's always tomorrow!

Yeah, they sent that automated response pretty quickly. I still haven't heard back from them.

They just sent me the tracking info. Canada Post says it should arrive today, but USPS says it should arrive by Saturday.

They also sent me the tracking info and said that the package is due to arrive December 8-that's 18 days from now!! The only info on the USPS site is that the package was processed in Toronto earlier this morning--no delivery date shown. I feel like a character in an international mystery novel!

That's weird that they're saying Dec 8th. They said Dec 8th in the email they sent me this morning with the tracking number.

This is what they wrote:

I just checked Canada Post and it says expected delivery for Saturday, Service: Xpresspost USA. USPS shows no delivery date. Have they charged your credit card yet? I paid by American Express and the charge hasn't posted yet. I'm curious since they charged me $195.28 (Canadian dollars) and said that it would be converted to US dollars when my card was charged.

I paid via PayPal. It charged the same amount in CAD as yours, but I haven't seen what it looks like on my credit card statement (I'm avoiding checking my credit card at the moment

).

My USPS tracking info has gotten updated and the box arrived in a city just 15 minutes away from me. So close, yet so far!

It's still estimating a Saturday deliver, but I'm guessing it'll come sooner.

So it looks like Canada Post's estimate was correct, USPS's estimate was slow, and Chapter's estimate was very slow.

Nope, I didn't order the sleep cover with it. I don't think I would ever use it in a cover.

$179.99 Canadian works out to $159.30 US.

I guess that would be the price without the shipping.

So far I'm liking the device a lot. I'm liking it better than the Voyage that I'm returning, but that's for another thread.

My replacement H20 from Kobo was just delivered by FedEx. Very pleased with Kobo right now.

I had the On/Off switch go bad Sunday, spoke with Kobo CS at 9:30 am Monday, had an RMA in my inbox 45 minutes later, and a new H20 Thursday evening.

Way to go, Kobo

The total with tax in CAD is $195.28. The current exchange rate makes that $172.70 in US Dollars. It's a small savings from the Kobo web price, but it looks like Chapters is WAAAY faster than Kobo in shipping. My credit card has not been charged yet.

I'm sure you'll really like the Kobo. I was considering the Voyage also but the Kobo seems like a better product. And none of the Kindle products can handle epub format so Kobo is the way to go if you do a lot of side loading of epub books.

Also, if I could give you some advice after having used a Kobo ereader for over a year: Use Calibre to transfer books to your Kobo, especially if you use Kobo's shelf feature. It will save you a lot of grief in the long run. There's a complete guide in the sticky section of this forum giving step-by-step details. It's very helpful.

Thanks for the advice! I was already using Calibre for my Kindle, so I was pretty familiar with it. I followed some instructions here and added 2 custom plugins for the Kobo, and everything seems to be working very smoothly.

Also I'm really liking the sync with Pocket feature.

My only current problem is that for some reason the sideloaded fonts aren't loading, even after a restart. I put them in the "fonts" directory, but somehow I can never use them.
