This YouTube video demonstrates Echo's capabilities and several minor shortcomings. I am intrigued!

I like it. It is black, same color as my counters, and it looks nice. We have an open floor plan and the sound is great. I like to be able to turn the radio on and off by voice. I asked it to play Alternative, and it played Pop, so I guess I will just go online and create a playlist. I signed up for Tunein and iHeart. Right now I am listening to a Chicago Radio Station. I got a work call, and was able to pause it right on my Fire. Can turn up the volume sitting on the couch through my Fire. I am really interested to fling movies to a FireTV. But I ordered my stick during the sale, and it isn't set to arrive until early January. I would really like one of these for our vacation house. But not at $199.

We don't have a magnetic refrigerator, but I wouldn't want to put the remote near the device anyway--kind of defeats the purpose. It fits nicely on top of our fireplace tools in the family room.

The pace of the video is a bit slow but it's informative. Echo's response to the statement just after the 02:52 mark made me laugh.

When you get a chance, could you test TuneIn? I'd like to know if you can give Echo verbal commands to play saved stations and to change stations.

Yes, you can pause and resume, turn volume up or down with a verbal commend. I am new to Tunein I will add some stations and see. Right now, I am dealing with my daughter asking it where to bury a dead body (take it to the police) and I hate you (I'm sorry, I will try to better next time). Hopefully she will get sick of it soon.
