If I can't download the free books--or subsequent purchases--to my computer and access them outside the app, then they're not mine, they're really in the same category as the Scribd and KU borrowed books. No thanks.

I'll probably help the wife DL the app on her phone and get 2 free titles. She'll listen to them, uninstall the app, and then forget she ever had it. I don't think this will replace Audible for her, but we'll give it a shot.

I went ahead and installed the Nook audiobook app just to see what books are available and the pricing, since I couldn't find that online yesterday. And I couldn't even look around with signing in or creating a new account. Seriously? What doofus decided to do it this way? I immediately uninstalled it.

Having to do the create-an-account/sign-in thingie on websites and programs/apps is so annoying.

I already had a B&N account, so it was easy to get the freebies. But if you're going from scratch, then it's a royal pain just to get two audiobooks; especially if that's all you'll use the account for.
