I imagine if the screen can be folded 100,000 times without breaking that that will mean that it's a bit more sturdy than the substrate type screen ereaders like Kindle currently use which would be a bonus.

Pretty sure it means folded, straightened, folded etc 100 000 times, not advanced origami. Though I've now got the image in my head of an origami duck tv, unfold to turn on, swear copiously trying to fold back to the standby configuration

I had a teacher once with a serious thing for ducks, she has rubber ducks, ceramic ducks, eraser ducks, bookend ducks, a duck mug, duck screensaver, all kinds of ducks...

She doesn't have an origami duck, but if she did origami I am sure she would prefer ducks.

For home use, I don't see why I need a foldable screen. I rather watch my shows flat screen. Commercial wise.. maybe there is a usage for foldable screen.

I too was thinking Readius when reading the thread title. Still is the design I find most appealing in a portable device. Then again I'm weird and waiting for a reasonable e-paper type panel based phone be it color or grayscale, so maybe I'm just different anyway.

Anythewho. It's awesome that this is getting closer to reality. I can see all sorts of value to a thin, flexible screen, in many scenarios, not just portable devices.

Not to mention what it might potentially mean for manufacturing processes, production yields, storage, shipping, etc.
