Hmmm . . . . I haven't noticed that myself. Maybe it's because of where on the Internet I hang out.

What definitely seem to be more common recently are the premium (renowned authors/cooks/chefs and major cookbook publishing houses) cookbooks being marked down (many times way, way down).

Anyway, here's a freebie cookbook. Bacon is always a crowd-pleaser. Yum. I wish that I had some right now . . . .

I run across many Gluten-Free cookbooks each day (Paleo is another type). Many of them are free, at least at the time that I spot them. However, I think that I have never posted a Gluten-Free Cookbook before. Why post this one? Why pay even the 99 cents that this one costs right now? One reason: quality. This one is very highly rated, and comes from a well-regarded specialty cookbook publisher (Shasta Press). Another reason: size. It's big, at 314 pages.

This looks like it's part travelogue (for Southern restaurants) and part cookbook. With me having been raised in the deep South on much of the food that this book describes, this book really piqued my interest. I had to buy it.
