Great news for those waiting for Windows libraries to talk to Marvin on IOS 8. I have just this minute got my Windows port of the libraries working.

Not that I know off, but my Windows version uses the same code (Linux) and should be used on the Mac, and as far as I know the latest Linux code is OK. Maybe the version you have is out of date?

![]() Count me among many resurrected & happy W7 Calibre \ iPad \ Marvin users with our books back!! ![]() After solving a coincidental Calibre "Database Error: database disk image is malformed" exception by UnInstalling & ReInstalling Marvin v2.8 on iPad iOS 8.1, over-writing my 64bit Calibre v2.7 & upgraded v2.8 limobile files with your "DLL Trio" as directed, got me up & going. Again, Sure Appreciate Your Persistence & Hard Work!!!! ![]() Last edited by stanhere; 11-03-2014 at 10:40 PM. |

iPad Mini 3 Will Not Connect
I have Marvin with the IOS Applications and the Marvin XD Plugins working here now with both my iPhone 6 and my iPad Air. Yesterday I bought an iPad Mini 3 and was surprised to have it fail on connecting to Marvin. When I connect it, nothing happens. I do not get the "trust this computer?" dialog nor do either of the two plugins show their icons. Everything just sits there. I have rebooted both the iMac and the iPad Mini to no effect. Using Calibre 2.8 with the latest plugins and Yosemite 10.10. I can actually unplug my iPad Air, see the icons and the connection go away, then plugin the iPhone 6 and that connects with the icons appearing but the iPad Mini 3 just does not work at all. Anyone have any ideas what I might try to do? Thanks.

I posted something about this in the Marvin forum a while back, but you can get around the malformed database error if you go to the Marvin section of the main system Settings app, going down to the Advanced Support And Maintenance section (Support and maintenance), ignoring the scary warnings and tick the Optimize database toggle, then start Marvin (if it's already open force quit it from the Multitask Switcher before you do this) and connect to Calibre as normal. It might throw an error dialog but it should actually load the catalog on the device and let you use Calibre as normal. Until the next time...

Ooo, thanks to the crafty ones for getting this working again.
I'd been skimming this thread now and then and saw there was success in fixing dlls, but hadn't realized that this was not simply on the road to a fix but the arrival at the fix. A link in this thread took me to "Fixed (beta) libraries for iOS 8 + Windows + Marvin" and following the simple directions of ShellShock in post #1 there, it all now seems to be working without problem. I am now able to connect once again using Calibre 2.9 64bit with my iPod Touch 5 with the latest release of Marvin. Thanks again to all involved! Last edited by k9reeder; 11-11-2014 at 09:23 AM. |

![]() go to Code:
%APPDATA%\calibre\plugins\ Make sure the plugin is fully updated, in fact just delete their zipfiles too while you are at it.^^ |

![]() I am not sure of the precise APPDATA location on OSX (although other unix-like OSes use "~/.config/" ), so go to Preferences ==> Miscellaneous in calibre and click Open configuration directory. That will get you to the calibre folder, then cleanup the "plugins" subdirectory. Last edited by eschwartz; 11-11-2014 at 07:36 PM. |

My iPad Air is being detected by iOS reader app and I see the Marvin XD and Marvin buttons when device is connected. However, now Calibre keeps going through a cycle of analyzing the books on my iPad. Before this, once I connected to Calibre, hit Get Books on Marvin, Calibre would analyze the books on my iPad ONCE and that was it. From that point, I could sideload books like crazy. Then I would use disconnect the device and go about my business. This constant cycling through analyzing my device is NEW. Any thoughts? P.S. When I opened the config directory under Calibre to remove the plug ins, I removed the following: 1. The iOS reader folder 2. The iOS reader zip file 3. iOs reader applications.json Last edited by chilady1; 11-12-2014 at 07:39 PM. |
