Well, the H2o has finally arrived in a shop near me so I'll drive there now to have a look at it. If it is really as good as has been said, I might end up with it. I have no willpower at all....!!!!!!

Trying to rationalize it all of course. If I get the H2o, my dad would get my HD.
Dad is the only one left in the family with a K4NT, and until now he did not want a light but I might turn him over...I have to.

Of course I'll report back in 3 hours.

I have it. Could not resist (it was next to an HD and man, what a difference).

I'll admit it is nice, very good display, and it's a keeper, but am waiting for tonight to compare it with the Voyage under normal lighting conditions. Until now I like the Voyage display better, I can see the better resolution on the Voyage, but it is not a huge difference. I'll report back tonight after reading with lights on on both.

Haha, I knew it.

Can you elaborate a bit on the HD vs. H2O difference? I thought they both have the same screen? Or did Kobo make improvements to the light?

Yes, and the HD has a Pearl screen. I have both, and there is a marked difference between them; the Carta screen of the H2O has clearly better contrast.

I felt the same way as you initially! I saw the bigger size as a negative, and preferred the smaller size of my PW2 and the voyage when I had it. Now I actually prefer reading on the larger screen. Funny how that can go.

Comparing the Voyage and the H2O side, by side, even though the H2O's screen is a little larger, with the "out of the box" settings, the Voyage actually displays a little more text on the screen than the H2O, due to the very large bottom margin on the H2O.

This is true, but I promptly fixed that! It's easy to fix with simple changes. Many topics about it in the Kobo section. I really disliked that bottom margin.
