I'd forgotten all about Uniblab! I loved that TV show. Personally, I'd appreciate a household robot like Rosie.

I read elsewhere that initially Echo will respond to only two wake words—Alexa and Amazon—but additional wake words capability will be added in the future.

I'd rather not have it be Amazon. I can see using Amazon in normal conversation but not Alexa. I hope you can remove wake words.

I agree. The wake word needs to be distinctive.

Edited to add: I'm thinking that Amazon might program Echo to respond only when there is a period of silence before and after the wake word is spoken. If that's the case, a word used in conversation, like Amazon, may work since it's usually not uttered as a single-word expletive. I dunno. I'd still choose Alexa as my wake word.
