If you compare the H2O to the Voyage, the difference between those two should be less significant than H2O vs PW2. It is similar to iphones once they sharted being retina - the old phones looked just fine until you seen with your own eyes what you were missing. |

Same here. My other kindles never froze at all. And I have owned every kindle since they started making them and they all got tons of use. In the very short time I used the voyage it froze more than a few times. So it makes me wonder if something may possibly be up. A few users on here had issues with their voyage freezing when they were setting it up also.

My PW2014 is great with the front light off. But I see some bottom smudging at light levels I normally use to read in low ambient light conditions... normally in the 10-12 range. I thought it was maybe some shadowing from the leds, but maybe not. It does bother me some. Is that normal in the PW2014?

I don't read with the light off, so cannot comment on that other than to say that it makes sense that with the light off the shadowing would be gone. |

If I put my PW2 and my Voyage side by side in the dark and set the light at max, both are creamy colored, the Voyage more so than the PW2. My Aura HD next to them looks very cold, like your PW2 does in your pic. Now I wanted to spend some time taking pictures, but my Calibre Library screwed up yesterday so right now, I am in the middle of a save and rescue action. Maybe this weekend if I have had enough sleep by then... |

Just curious... As you are aware that the vast majority of Voyage users are not having problems such as yours, and as you seem quite pleased with having "owned every kindle since they started making them," do you intend to order another when things settle down a bit, or was the trauma of your bad Voyage just to much to bear? I know what I'd do in your situation, but I am interested to hear your likely intention. |

Hello, I have been following this thread with interest. This morning I picked up my third Voyage - the first two I returned due to the uneven screen light / noticable gradient - & I'm pleased to say this one is fine. There is still a very slight difference in the lighting at the top 1/3rd of the screen but it is not distracting at all, the first one I had this was really noticable, the second less so but still distracting. So I think there is a difference in screen quality in terms of even lighting between different units, with some having a much more noticable gradient. So for those asking the question 'will I keep mine even though it's annoying me because they are all like that?' I would say that some screens seem to be much more evenly lit than others & it might be worth sticking with the returns approach until you get one that is okay, cheers, Ervinos :-)
