If I'm reading the e-mail right, they'll still have Overdrive, but new acquisitions will be Axis 360. I guess I'll have to return to FLP. P.S.: Can you get the audiobooks from the Acoustik app onto the Clip Zip? Last edited by Catlady; 05-09-2014 at 07:33 PM. Reason: P.S. |

I don't think so. Axis 360 uses two different programs for its books - Blio for ebooks and Acoustik for audiobooks. Both are available as mobile apps, but only Blio can be downloaded to a PC.

			Zinio help needed here

I signed up a few months ago and only logged in using my PC. I was given a tablet recently so I downloaded the Zinio app--excited to sample magazine reading on a portable device. Well, in the app's setting, I've tried logging in multiple times but keep receiving the message that my email/password do not match what is on record. I've logged in and out on my PC to force double checking of my log in details. I'm sure I'm using the right combo on the tablet. I've emailed Zinio for help but thought I would drop a note here in case someone has gone through this and resolved it. EDIT: Nevermind, I don't know if I'm describing it accurately but basically you need to log in at the RB Digital/your library page. Select a magazine to download and read. Then it will ask you to log in to Zinio and that's another log in altogether. So I was using the RB Digital log in for my Zinio app, thinking it was all one log in. So if anyone else runs into this problem, keep this mind. It's kinda confusing. Last edited by tdonline; 08-26-2014 at 03:33 PM. |

My library will be using Axis 360 for ebooks in the future. Looking around, it looks like Axis 360 can use ADE to download the ebooks (so I should be able to get them to my Kobo and Nook).?

Just to make sure, has anyone else used ADE to check out ebooks through Axis 360? I'm using ADE 1.7, and would like to continue using that version. Thank you. |

Yes. Axis offers 2 formats, blio and epub, just chose epub.

I wonder why this is. Is it Amazon, the publishers, authors, ... ? Wasn't Kindle support delayed for Overdrive, maybe Axis360 will get Kindle support eventually?

At least with EPub available, you can strip and format shift to get it on your Kindle (ducks and heads for cover).

The only reason there is a Fair Use justification is because the tools are meant for purchases only, whether they work or library books or not (don't know don't care fingers-in-ears emote goes here) and that is also why there is a legal justification (shaky, unchallenged, etc.) to distribute the tools. That being said, some library ebooks are Open EPUBs which can be freely converted. At least, OverDrive has a few. Dunno about Axis. |
