I must be doing something very wrong - the attached zip has the following files

testReplaceRules.doc

I run S&R using "testReplaceRules.doc" on "original spelled dispelled.docx",

I click Yes to the first 'spelled',
I click Ignore to the first 'dispelled',
I click Yes to all the subsequent 'spelled's

All the subsequent 'dispelled' are ignored in that sense that there's no confirm dialogue. But as I click Yes to the rest of the 'spelled's I see the prior 'dispelled's change to 'dispelt' and the 'spelled' changed to 'spelt'.

The outcome can be seen in "post S&R spelled dispelled.docx".

If I click No on a 'spelled' then it is not changed nor is prior 'dispelled'.

I can see the same behavior in you document. I will run it through the debugger because I cannot explain why this is happening at all. Very strange.

- that's good, for me at least. I couldn't see how I could be 'doing it wrong' or misunderstanding the meaning of 'Ignore'... and claim to be sane.

That example - contrived though it is - also demonstrates why I think a Change All would be useful - eg for color->colour one would typically Ignore All (colorado) and Change All (watercolor)

Fantastic, I will have to upgrade and do some testing. Only little thing that was irking me (just a tiny bit) is after Importing an EPUB, Word just had a line gap at the beginning+end of <blockquote></blockquote>.

Sort of hard to tell if the text is supposed to be a blockquote without at least a left margin offset. As always, if you need any samples or whatever, just let me know.

Perhaps I could try some post-activities. Will be difficult though, since blockquote logic is gone after the import so locating this can be hard. Isn't part of the standard HTML style for a blockquote a line gap? That would explain it.

Long enough, and still wants to be a ballerina when she grows up. With her determination, she might even succeed. She has the build for it though (but not from me...).

@Toxaris - I tried to install version 1.9.3 - I got what you see in first image attachment, second image shows Properties->Details for the two MSI's, file names are in title bar.

I could uninstall 1.9.2 I guess, but this didn't happen yesterday when I installed 1.9.2 over the top of 1.9.1, so that indicates something is not right.

I have also attached the installer log in a zip.

You are correct, I got the same message. Something strange with the installer I guess, although the creation of the installer is automatic. If you look at the log it actually says that its version is higher than the one installed. Somehow it thinks however it is lower.
Unfortunately you need to undelete 1.9.2 and install 1.9.3. Your settings will be retained if you uninstall normally.

Hmmm, then maybe I can just fiddle around with my CSS before I feed it in, and just do SOMETHING to make the blockquote look different (like a slightly smaller/larger font). Thanks.

As I mentioned, I haven't been on my usual workload lately, I have had HUGE month-long projects.... so not much Importing/Exporting/Converting/Testing.

Why not just use a blockquote style named blockquote, and apply the CSS after? Or did I just miss the obvious here?

No it doesn't, the only version mentioned is 1.9.0, and that's in relationship to what it is trying to install - the 1.9.3's only appear in the context of the name of the msi file - which can be anything. Now here's what I did:

I looked in the registry and 1.9.2 appeared where it should

Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Toxaris\ePUB Tools\Path = C:\Program Files (x86)\Toxaris\ePUB Tools\
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Toxaris\ePUB Tools\Version = 1.9.2
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-21-3755760686-4144392507-2264908130-1000\Products\DEBB102F7E49CDE4F9D6D8695BB08959\InstallProperties\DisplayVersion = 1.9.2
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{F201BBED-94E7-4EDC-9F6D-8D96B50B9895}\DisplayVersion = 1.9.2
I turned the registry inside-out, upside-down and shook-it-all-about - no sign of a 1.9.0 for anything

So I uninstalled 1.9.2 and installed ePUBTools_1.9.3-setup_en.msi,

Now where I previously saw 1.9.2 in the registry I see 1.9.0, and in the Control Panel->Programs & Features I'm informed I just installed 1.9.0. And when I look at C:\Program Files (x86)\Toxaris\ePUB Tools\ePUBTools.dll.manifest I see lines such as this

Code:
<assemblyIdentity name="ePUBTools" version="1.9.0.0" language="neutral" processorArchitecture="msil" />
The message that the Trusted Installer gave me was spot on. I was trying to install a product branded as "1.9.0" in the manifest, and that is where the Trusted Installer gets its information from, when I already had a later version, "1.9.2", installed. If you read the log carefully that's exactly what it tells us -

Windows Installer installed the product.
Product Name: ePUB Tools.
Product Version: 1.9.0.
Product Language: 1033.
Manufacturer: Toxaris.
Installation success or error status: 1603.

Yes, it would be better if it said "Windows Installer tried to install..." but I have a suspicion that not all 1603 error's are fatal.

When I look at version of the Epub Tools addin in Word it tells me it's 1.9.0 and it tells me that 1.9.3 is available...

I'm going to uninstall 1.9.whatever-it-is and reinstall 1.9.2 and await further developments.

BR

My usual workflow is:

PDF -> OCR -> EPUB -> Tweak + Complete EPUB.

When a book needs to not just be converted, but copyedited (changing from British Spelling -> American, etc. etc.), these extra steps get tacked on:

Tweaked/Completed EPUB -> Convert/Import to DOC(X)/ODT -> Copyediting -> Export DOC(X)/ODT to EPUB -> Tweak + Complete (Copyedited) EPUB.

So I am already inputting a perfectly completed/marked up EPUB. Perhaps I am just not understanding you correctly? Are you saying:
  • Do an extra manual pass in Word after the Import, in order to change all blockquote paragraphs to a "Blockquote" style in Word? Then after I can export BACK to EPUB, I can easily see what is a blockquote and what isn't?

... All these fancy Word Processors are definitely not my strong point (I prefer working in straight text/code). And I am not the one doing the Copyediting, so it might be hard for another person to tell exactly what is what (mistakes can easily be made with just the minor margin top/bottom, and no other way to distinguish blockquote from normal text). With a left margin, that would distinctly offset the blockquotes from the normal text.

Meh, maybe I am just going insane, and doing everything all wrong. That could always be possible.

No idea what went wrong, but I rebuilt the installer. It works for me now. You can find it at the usual place but can also download directly I think.

@Toxaris - Nor me, somehow you shipped an old manifest or you created a bad one.

But the new one installed over the top of 1.9.2 just fine, and it passed the Ignore test. I might try Import EPUB tomorrow, bit late in the day to venture forth into that particular fray.

Thanks for your efforts.

And just to specify exactly what I mean by left-margin blockquotes after import (I should have taken snapshots and done my usual, forgive me!).

EPUB in Sigil:

After Import using EPUB Import:

How I imagine it should look after EPUB Import:

As you can see, in the third image, the blockquote is much easier to spot when compared to the second.
