Perhaps a lot of people aren't as sensitive? I mean, when I read a paperback book, with a table lamp nearby, I put up with shadows there too. I just expect them to be there.

So I don't see that Amazon is taking advantage of people. They are just not completely satisfying to the more sensitive among us.

Yep, my PW2 is very evenly lit, so the yellow tone towards the top of the screen on the Voyage is not simply down to the lighting being at the bottom.

For the record, I've owned and used an assortment of PW1s, PW2s, Kobo Aura HDs and now an H20.
The only caveat to mention with Kobo is that yes the evenness of the light is something they have handled very well, but the standard Aura has other issues with the screen. In common with the PW & Voyage, it has a capacitive screen, whereas the Aura HD & H2O use infra red touch. So they are using different technologies and not strictly comparable.

There are a few reviews on Amazon UK now, and non of them mention colour problems. Reviews are generally positive about the screen. A few other grumbles though.

December 16 delivery for anyone ordering now.

Sorry you guys are unable to enjoy it. It really is beautiful when it is working properly.
Aehm. There is no unwritten rule that you have to agree with anybody else. Actually, it is rather nice when there is different opinion - otherwise a discussion will be quite boring, don't you think?

If it isn't the agreeing part, what then? It is the way how you (or everbody for that matter) handle an opposing or different opinion. First step is to acknowledge that there is a chance that we are all different. Next step is to stay nice and respectful when disgussing. That is the most important one.

Don't get me wrong, if I agree with someone, but show disrespect to a differing opinion, then I would hear about. And I wouldn't like it either.

I have to say that I was a mite nervous after having pre-ordered and then seeing this thread. That said, mine arrived yesterday and I'm very happy with it. It's a vast improvement over my first-gen PW which I settled for but was never REALLY happy with.

I definitely feel for anyone who isn't happy with their Voyage and hope they can get a reader that does satisfy them.

Of course, I realize I'm injecting my own feelings into the matter. It's very hard not to when it represents so obviously and clearly to me. Part of my annoyance comes from Amazon telling people the yellow to blue screen is normal. It sounds ridiculous to me for them to say that. I also feel that some of the photos on here (xendula's photo of her 4 voyages shows it very clearly) most everyone would have to agree there are very obvious color hue and light issues with those screens. The color hues and light issues in those photos (and others posted on here) can clearly be seen by most everyone, I believe.

I'm happy for those that love their voyage, but imo I don't feel for the price of the device they have put out a very good or consistent product. I guess that's the bottom line for me.

LOL Me, too, though they do seem to be getting rarer. It's unclear if I just don't give a dang these days or if it's oldtimers.

Great minds, and all... After I made the post my eyes immediately focused on my siggy and I thought the same thing.

BTW, there are amazon reviewers who were told that the gradient from blue to yellow is normal:
