You'd think the books would be getting formatted better, not worse these days!

Edit the book in Calibre. You just open the style sheet and change the margins to 0 instead of 100% or you can check in Margins in Calibre's filter style information box and it will remove all margins for you.

The other place I see them messed up a lot is margin-top and margin-bottom attributes on styles associated with paragraphs. I don't like spaces between paragraphs so I set it to 0 but any thing between 0 and 1em usually gets the job done depending on your preferences.

Thank you both. I'm seeing more messed up books lately from Kobo and needed to learn how to fix them myself. I really appreciate you guys helping.

Thanks for looking it up. I couldn't easily find it on Amazon, and there doesn't seem to be an ISFDB or SYKM equivalent specifically for romances.

Bargain @ $1.99 each from Open Road Media (couponable @ Kobo, should be available in all the usual stores, prices good for Canada & US at least, possibly other regions, etc.):

Find Love in Another Time With Time Travel Romances, good throughout November, I think. Their blog entry doesn't really say, but kind of implies.

Some of the titles are a bit surprising. I've personally read and own both Barbara Hambly's The Silent Tower (1st in a duology, I warn you, and with the first 3 expanded series books available in a money-saving omnibus which might work out to be cheaper with a good coupon) and R. A. MacAvoy's The Book of Kells, which are very good fantasies I highly recommend if you happen to enjoy such, but I wouldn't have classified them as romance, although in retrospect, there are some strong romantic elements amidst all the adventuring (and BH's TST is not actually time-travel, but alternate world crossover).

That said, there do seem to be some old school backlist romance names like Constance O'Day-Flannery and Elizabeth Lane.

And for those of you who've never encountered one of John Norman's books before, obligatory linkage: "Houseplants of Gor", which is pretty much what you could probably expect from any of his books, according to people who are not me who've actually read them.

I am finding them more and more on Scribd with no way to fix them. Most are from Smashwords.

I have to gush about MacAvoy's Book of Kells--it was my favorite book for about a year in high school. Great book, it's got humor, adventure, romance, and a little bit of magic-- you all should buy it I did buy it, because a well-loved paperback purchased in 1985 is well nigh coming apart now.

Thank you! I'm going to get it because another of her books: "Tea with the black dragon" is one of my favorite books, one I recommend for a different fantasy with a touch of romance.
