Although what you say is of course absolutely true, that's simply down to the fact that we see in "black and white" at low light levels; colour vision needs a certain light intensity to kick in.

With the very greatest respect, Jack, it IS effing perception. I've demonstrated that by posting a photograph of my Voyage screen, which some of us don't see any colour in, while others do. The colour is physically there, to be sure, but not everyone "sees" it.

Yes but, Harry, the implication, which is sometimes made explicit, is that those who perceive the color gradient are perceiving 'correctly what is actually there' whereas those who don't are not. I find that to be a problematical assertion. We all know that the act of seeing is inextricably tied to some very sophisticated signal processing by the brain, and actually by the eye itself before the information even reaches the visual cortex. Since an e-reader is made only to be seen by human beings, claims that the display can be more truly evaluated by non-human means, such as cameras, appear to me to be questionable.

It is, of course, also true that humans tend to become emotionally invested in their judgements and opinions, and that simply adds another layer of complexity/uncertainty with the respect to the veracity of perception.

I prefer to just enjoy my (mis)perception.

And for the record I've had yellow iPhones, Kindles, and Kobo's. Yellow isn't the problem, two tone and uneven screens are.

I am not judging anyone. You're taking offense where no offense was intended. I wasn't making a judgmental statement or telling anyone what they are/aren't seeing. It was more of a question regarding the power of suggestion when it comes to SOME of the screen issues.

ETA - You have to download your books first. I can't remember exactly, but the same collections from the KK should be under "Cloud" next to On Device, open the collection you want and start downloading the titles, by tapping/clicking lightly at the bottom. You'll see it say pending and downloading. Once finished it will show on your device. To see your collections you have to select collections from the far right list, and you can choose which items to see in the second to last drop-down list, i.e. "all items, books, periodicals, docs, collections, active content".

For instance if on the far right you select "most recent" and the next to the last you choose "all items" you will get just that. I keep mine configured to All Items, Collections. With that configuration you get your collections and uncollected items behind. You have to choose to show your Cloud Collections in all views to see them in all views, otherwise they're only in certain places.

You're welcome. Your local collections need to marked as starred in order to show in all views. Go to your collections, hold briefly, mark show in all views (star them), then sort by All, or whatever on the next to last list and Collections on the far most drop-down list. That should do it for you.

Experiment a little. See what works best for you.

This is "info for those new to Cloud Collections" 101.

You are the one that tries to say that Harry's picture does not have different colors in it based purely on the fact that your eyes combined with your viewing device (monitor) does not show it TO YOUR vision. And if you say it is the irrefutable truth, then you are the one that needs to lighten up.

Harry's picture does look much better than most of the "problematic" screens. And in person (not through a picture taken) I do believe it will look even better. To show you, I attach a picture (the very same as Harry's) that has boosted colors. It is subtle, but irrefutably the color shift from blueish to yellow is in the data of the image. Some see it some don't ( on the unedited picture with their monitor).
