Yeah, I guess I should. It's ALL the fingers, as I already switch off fingers to even out the pain. I've got a regular appointment next week. I'll ask.

Also, I find when I use my other tablet with a matte screen protector my hands/fingers don't hurt as much. The surface is much more smooth. As soon as I buy more Dust Off (an electronics compressed-gas duster), I'm going to put a screen protector on the tablet I use most. Hopefully in a few days. You could find matte screen protectors on eBay or Amazon. Two or more packs would be best, in case you have trouble applying the first few. 'Hope you start feeling better soon. |

I did install a screen protector, for this issue, though I'm not certain that it's matte. I had googled and found this suggestion. It hasn't helped noticably. Sigh.

I also purchased two DAGI styluses--DAGI P508 and P505--that could be used with my tablet. Maybe you could purchase a styus for your Kindle? I had to do research on mine 'cause many styli don't work well with the Nook Tablet. The Nook is much more responsive to the DAGI stylus, however. Perhaps it'll work on yours too?
It might help alleviate the pain? Last edited by trichobezoar; 11-03-2014 at 03:36 PM. Reason: Added "however". |

I've been trying styluses - so far they all seem to work much more poorly than a finger does. It takes a real push, rather than just a touch. So typing a note takes ever so much more time. BUT I'll go look at that brand of stylus. Maybe it'll help! Thanks.

I had the same experience with most styli. I tried different styli again and again in vain. Then I google searched and found out that DAGI works well on rooted Nook Tablets. It's not totally responsive when it comes to drawing, but when it comes to writing it does okay--almost as good as using a finger. And for tapping icons (applications), it's great.
I purchased extra stylus tips on eBay and, lo and behold, the seller told me he/she was sending me a P505 stylus as well--for only $13! I'll dig up the link... *searching* If you choose to purchase the tips, you could ask them if they'd also send you a P505 stylus. 2pcs Transparent small Tip for DAGi Capacitive Stylus Pen P507 P508: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-Transpa...item3f1f4f90cc EDIT: I looked at the description page for the DAGI P508 stylus and it works on a Kindle Fire. *searching* It seems the P505 works on the Kindle Fire, as well. I don't know if you have a Kindle Fire or not... It might work on the Kindle you have. That clear shield on the tip looks strange. Does it bother you when you're writing?

I've seen that tip on several "fine point" styluses, on Amazon. I guess it's so you don't pierce the iPad's surface with your point. Still, the question remains: does it bother you?
And how it the thing for just touching letters on a keyboard, or numbers on the calculator? I don't actually draw or handwrite anything. |

I used the P508 a few weeks ago to write a few words and draw a bit using a memo and sketch app. Afterwards, I tapped on icons and typed a few words easily. It didn't scratch my screen saver much... I replaced the tip though (the previous one was a little bent) and I just tried writing a To Do list with a protective, transparent sticker on the tip and it scratched up the screen saver pretty bad. I could still read words from my To Do list on the screen saver! *shaking head*
On second thought, these are not good choices when it comes to styli. Now I have to replace the screen saver... I could see why the eBay seller was giving away the P505 for free (they use the same tips). Also, it's a lot less responsive than a finger when it comes to writing. I wrote the same To Do list with my finger and it was more legible than the one I wrote with the stylus. Live and learn. >.> |

The link to the posts follows: http://forums.androidcentral.com/gen...t-drawing.html EDIT: The thought occured to me just now that I could use two transparent stickers on the P508's tip to keep it from scratching the screen saver and it worked! But it's less responsive now. The only things I'm able to do well is tap on icons and read an ebook (the pages turn easily enough). As for swiping, typing or using a calculator... *shakes head* Nope. It still scratches the screen saver a bit when swiping and typing or using a calculator--forget it. I had to press hard and purposely on the letters/numbers at times and sometimes--twice, three times per letter/number. Ugh, I'm not even gonna attempt to write or draw with it. >.> Last edited by trichobezoar; 11-04-2014 at 06:53 PM. Reason: Added a bit more. |

I had the strangest little dream this evening (been lying down as am not feeling well) and in the dream this rabbit jumps out of a tiny Easter basket like container and lands stunned on the floor. I pick him up and he's got a tag tied to him with a name. "Harvey."

... I don't think Harvey would have fit in a tiny basket!

I had a much cooler dream this evening during a nap. I was Alex Rogan Starfighter and kicked some Kodan rear in battle.
