Don't know if anyone is thinking of Oberon, I have just heard from customer services and they say that the Voyage cover is the same as the one they are producing for the Paperwhite with no cut out to access the back on off button.
The only difference is that they are moving the magnet to work as auto wake/sleep for the Voyage. Given that the Paperwhite is bigger, esp in length, it won't be streamlined to work with the Voyage dimensions so there'll be a bit of extra bulk. Just so as you know. |

Now I would be interested to know where to move the magnet. I have tried to find out with my kitchen magnet (which worked really fine for everyone of my devices) where the sensitive point is on the Voyage to put is to sleep or wake it up and could not find one. Anyone ?
I have the origami black and love it but who knows, maybe someday I will get creative again and make myself a cover or the origami might not alter well (I am not super confident of its quality, as my original PW cover in persimmon ended up losing its color on the back and stained the inside of my nice handbag). There was a photo on Kindelboards showing where the sleep magnet is, indeed, in the centre.

To be clear, do the Oberon covers have a magnet? I'd like to know because I'm considering an Oberon cover for my Voyage, if I can ever figure out why it keeps coming up with Application Errors and locking up! A Factory Reset helped for a day, or two, but that's about it. Now I'm back to the same old problems! A new Voyage should arrive tomorrow... and I'm hoping for the best! ![]() |

I did load one active content item onto my Voyage, and it seemed to work ok... but that was before I called Amazon CS and they had me to the Factory Reset.
1) Every morning, the Voyage locks up. It boots up ok, but the minute I try to do anything... nothing! (When I try a simple off/on, it comes back with a blank, white, screen.) 2) At odd times, during the day, I get Application Errors! 3) The only way I've found to fix these problems is with a 20 second reboot, but it's not a lasting "fix." 4) The Factory Reset fixed the problem for about 2 days, then it was back to the same old problems! I can't wait for the replacement Voyage to arrive tomorrow and I hope it has a good screen because, with the exception of the above problems (which are MAJOR), I'm vary happy with this eReader! (I still think this is a firmware problem, but I'm the only person that I've seen that's having problems that are this major.) |

Mickey, Oberon CS told me def. a magnetic for auto wake/sleep and in a different place from the Paperwhite, and I think they have changed the place of the little straps to hold the thing in place, in order not to block the light sensor.
For the rest, its the Paperwhite model which, now I come to think of it, was the the Kindle Touch dimensions. I remember that because I bought one for my PW and ended up going with the kindle basic which was bit smaller. It was a squeeze for my PW but the straps stretched and it fit snuggly. So actually, unless they've changed the model, the Paperwhite option a couple of years back was the same case they were using for the Touch and how much bigger is that than the Voyage? It would all be so much easier if they just gave the case dimensions. Because it is a corner strap design rather than the 'tray' type, they can offer a case that fits many dimensions, if the customer doesn't mind the extra margin around the edge. Which I do. The Marsden bindery ones, someone asked waaaay back in this thread, and I missed it, is a 'tray' type attachment, not elastic corners. Which I guess is why they don't have one for sale at the mo. |

Pangolin, thank you.
I don't think I'd mind a little bit of extra space around the edges. I'm not very picky, I just want something that'll protect my Kindle and be "nice." And, in this case (no pun intended), the fact that they haven't changed the dimensions actually works in my favor... since I might order a PW if I can't sort out my Voyage problems. Or I might wait six months and try again, with another Voyage. What I really want is a Voyage with no "psychological" issues. |

Well, that's good to know... even if I found out about it a bit after the fact. I will not be loading anymore active content onto my Voyage.
![]() And, if that's the case, Amazon needs to figure out a way to prevent people from downloading active content onto their Voyages. If I, somehow, damaged my Voyage... simply by downloading something that I bought from Amazon and had stored in their cloud... I'd call that a pretty major flaw in Amazon's cloud delivery system. (IOW, Hey Amazon... Not. My. Fault! (In all fairness, they haven't tried to blame me, or even suggested what might be wrong, but still... )) And we're off topic... so I'll shut-up about this! |

ACcase for Voyage
I ordered the sky blue version of this case with expedited shipping (which was a mistake). I just received it today and at $7.99 it is overpriced. The cover does not close completely. Two magnets on the right hold it closed but the corner sticks way up, the whole case is warped.
![]() Bottom line: unacceptable, not recommended. Expedited shipping from Hong Kong took about a week. Looks like I'll be keeping the Amazon case I got from Best Buy. At least it works and is well made, if pricey. Dean |
