Pocketbook has my $242, but they won't ship my InkPad
Has anyone had trouble buying from Pocketbook France?

I ordered an Inkpad in the beginning of September from Pocketbook's French subsidiary. After numerous delays, it was supposed to have shipped last week. So far as I can tell, it has not.

I would like to frame that sentence in more definite terms but unfortunately all I know now is that it hasn't shipped, and that the French sub is no longer responding to my emails.

I figure at this point I should kiss the $242 goodbye, and since I won't be getting anything else out of this I decided to at least post a warning to everyone else.

P.S. Does anyone have a contact email for Pocketbook France? Hopefully, one where they will actually respond?

I tried to put in an order yesterday, but it always failed when transferring from PayPal back to the French site. As far as I can tell, no order was placed. From another thread, it looks like they are out of stock. I suspect that all will be back to normal when they get more stock in.

Can you claim back your money from whoever you used to pay them, I.e paypal or your bank if it was a credit card?

You can always dispute the CC charge, if it comes to that.

It might bring a tiny bit of peace to your mind to know that here in Europe we do not celebrate Helloween. We have "All hallows day". Everybody and his brother is visiting family graves. So many companies are practically shot down since last Wednesday. There are more people on the move than during Thanksgiving in USA.
So perhaps they will start responding after this is over.

Another tidbit of info: somebody posted link to Czech site with an 8 minute video review. They say on the site: "Do not hesitate to order, we already know we will be receiving only limited number of devices - not enough for everybody. If you order first, you might receive it now." So perhaps there is some problem limiting the number of devices shipped.

I am not defending them!
Just trying to speculate what might be the cause of their silence.

That doesn't explain the lack of communication before Wednesday. And given how long the InkPad has been delayed, you'd think they would have made an effort to get them out the door.

They should have explained the situation to you. That is inexcusable.

This is what bothers me about ordering one of the e-readers being produced in Europe / Russia / Asia. What if it doesn't work? What if they just don't send it?

And they ain't cheap.

If I were you and they don't respond in a couple of more days I would spread that news in every post here related to buying any pocketbook reader and also youtube reviews, pocketbook sites etc. until they finally answer your email.

And if they did answer tomorow, I would not ask my money back only if as apology they offered me 10% discount.

In this way, you do us all a favour there, not just with Pocketbook France subsidiary.

I ordered an InkPad 840 from http://boutique.pocketbook.fr/index....duct&id_lang=3 on 25 October.

The auto email reply (after the order and payment confirmation came back as "out of stock" and that there would be a "slight delay" in shipping. Email address: info@pocketbook.fr

My credit card has been charged. Have heard nothing since. My order on their website says "Produit(s) indisponibles" ie. "Product (s) unavailable".

Edited to add: When I placed the order, the Inkpad was listed as "available" - now it says "Available soon".

I remain hopeful

Yes, but I ordered two months ago.

In any case, i did yell at PB corporate. They fixed it.
