Kindle Voyage - First Impressions

Sorry to hear it didn't work out. I couldn't get my focus off of the discoloration either and it was challenging to hold without some sort of cover. I feel sure I would make the same decision if I could get my hands on a Kobo locally. Time will tell.

Maybe Amazon will allow font resizing at some point or add more fonts. I hope so. The UI hasn't had a change in a while and I shouldn't have to hack my devices to get the fonts I need.

OK, I think I've got it now. There are two drop down menus on the right side of the screen:
Set the left-most one to Books (or all items).
Set the rightmost one to Collections.
Make sure all the Collections are starred to show up in all views.

NOW I get collections first, then books that are not in any collection on the following pages.

They do. You just need a time machine to go back four years or so

I discovered I quite like stock Georgia with some added weight. I added Charis Sil but I prefer Georgia now. Never been a fan of Caecilia.

I don't regret cancelling my Voyage I now have a superb PW2. It appears the Voyage has been more popular in the UK that I thought as although the page still says releasing on the 4th Nov if you try and order it today the delivery date is mid December.

I get that! I'm in love with my PW2. It's the perfect reader for me. It's everything my PW1 wasn't and nothing that my PW1 is.

Because I already had a nice PW2 (a 3G I passed to hubby) I knew what I wanted mine to look like, and it took three devices before I got a perfect one, but this one is even better than hubbys .

I've bought a new case (I had the pink, now I treated myself to the persimmon) and bought the extended insurance and still saved over £100 compared the the Voyage so I'm very happy

That's the other thing....the cases for the 2012 & 2013 devices were the nicest ever. Makes it worth getting a PW2 over a Voyage, just for the better case!

Ha. Not so long ago I bought the original navy one but had to return it as my hand hurt after 10 minutes of holding it. For me it was very uncomfortable.

The wait for a great "whatever", in my case a sleeve, for any new Kindle is torturous. It always seems like I just find the perfect case (when I used to buy them) and a new, bright and shiny Kindle comes along. I moved to sleeves because of that, among other things. Still just as pricey, still just as hard to find .

I keep hoping that the size changing thing will settle down to one size. It won't. "They" want to sell lots of pretties to go with the Kindles.

I like these types of shells on my tablets.

If only I could find one for my Kobo Aura HD....

Thank you! That's exactly what I was going to get for my Voyage so that I could hold it. I don't have that problem with the PW. It's nice and grippy all on it's own. I do use them on all my other devices, though. That's my favorite type of case.

Since I already have a sleeve for my PW1 I can just re-purpose it for my new PW2. The other PW2 stays in the bedroom - this has been my dream from the beginning - and lives on a stand, no sleeve needed. I'm probably going to donate the PW1 after my son leave after Xmas, just in case he wants to do some relaxing reading while he's here. Then I'll use the PW1 sleeve for the PW2 that I take with me when I go out. For the house it has its own stand. I may have dodged the sleeve/case dilemma this time around. (I did get a new stand, however.)
