Granted: It's now filled up with spam of things you DO need, but can't afford, driving you even more crazy!

I wish GM was bought wholesale by VW.

Granted : VW bought GM for a song, they were then in turn taken over by Tata, who were then easily succumbed by Toyota - we all now drive around in toy cars, powered by electricity from pedal-power-drived generators - then at the last minute they were taken over by Microsoft in league with Sir Clive Sinclair.

Granted. Now your curbside mailbox is full of cans of delicious processed shoulder pork meat. SPAM=Shoulder Pork and Meat

Slice it thick and fry until crispy. Yummy!

I wish I had a Spam and cheese sandwich with mayo.

Okay. I can live with that. It still beats bailing-out GM.

Granted. Radioflyertoo is now doing his own washing up in the nearest stream without soap.

I wish I hadn't just watched an episode of Family Guy that involved a naked Bill Clinton doing a song and dance routine.

Granted. You watched Andy Rooney and Larry King pole dancing while the Golden Girls stuffed dollar bills in their g-strings.

I wish the copyright law in the US was less restrictive as it once was.

Look, you lay-about, indolent, unproductive author, if you can't be bothered to be specific about your wishes, it's no good blaming this anthropomorphism of ultimate corruption.

Oh alright. Since it's you.

Granted. I should at this point out that Microsoft required, as part of the take-over, required that all cars have their systems to run their new OS. This has the side effect of causing the motor to run madly, even when not needed and gives the average car a range of about 100 yards before requiring re-charging. Microsoft promptly introduce SP1, which consists of a giant diesel generator in a trailer that plugs into the charging socket of the car. Unfortunately, the car also automatically updates is OS every 3 months, which also requires a new larger generator to drive it. This means that everyone must replace their car every 2 years with a new larger stronger car capable of moving the new generator required to power the newly improved more efficient software and electronics. The resulting piles of old cars that cannot be used produce a new set of environmental nightmares, not to mention supply chain nightmares. And don't even get me started about the new Microsoft SatNav with Mr Clippy, the routing wizard. "Where do you want to go today" my foot.

Granted. The US now has the least restrictive copyright law on the planet. So lax that essentially does not exist. This means that everything can be copied and shown by anyone. As a result, only printers, cinemas and TV companies make any money, which they use to buy politicians to ensure that their copyright positions are protec... Oh. Bummer.

I wish I could stop thinking about a Vera and the Doctor story.

Granted. The DVD is intercut with scenes of the old Gene Barry Burke's Law TV show and legal only in the sense that you own the physical DVD, not the contents.

I wish Steve Jordan would write more noir stories since the last noir story he wrote was IMHO his best writing to date.

Granted, Unfortunately (for us, but not for him) his noir stories become so successful he has no time to post on MR any more.

I wish this petition(*) succeeds (Bill Bailey for the next Dr Who!)
