Let's compare a Paper white and a voyage - Page 2

The one thing that keeps bothering me about my PW1 is that the lowest setting of the light is still way to bright for reading in a pitch-black room. (i.e. in bed with Mme asleep.)

Is the KV able to turn the light down further?

Which one has the red case on it? Personally I read a good bit of french and I can read some of that however I need to improve my french. I don't think that you need to read french in order to compare the two images.

the red case is the PW2 (it is also bigger). It is hacked so the margins and line space are a bit different than normal, which allows a bit more text on a page than the Voyage. I did try to choose the most similar settings on both devices for the pics though.
But I know that our hackers here have started working on the Voyage so hopefully I will be able to get the same settings on my Voyage.

The font is the original kindle helvetica on both device.

Hmm, they look much the same to me, this has been quite an interesting discussion very informative.

I know it's nosy, but if you would share your firmware version it would be helpful. I am getting ready to downgrade and I'm not sure how far I should come back up once I do my JB. Thank you in advance.

The reading experience will be destroyed by foreignness,

So we cannot possibly grasp the true meaning behind the differences. And it is your fault if we have to buy our own for comparison.

they really are not. You should go to a best buy see one for yourself and build your own opinion I think. The Voyage is sharper, and I can see it whitout my glasses, my pics do not do it justice imho. But my PW2 is really good too, just not as sharp. Somebody wrote "the letters jump out of the screen on the Voyage" and I think it is a pretty good image.
