Cromag can you tell us a bit more? Does it show in 'My Library' on the website? Is it in Desktop for PC?

Below is a pic, and it shows that it should be available as an epub if I'm reading the info correctly.

FWIW, it shows "Download options: Adobe DRM EPUB" on old system

Here's a thread outlining the problem - it is epub, but it gives an error when you try to download. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=248973

@Purple Lady thanks for that link.

So the problem seems to be that Kobo doesn't actually have the book. The publisher may not have released it. That's happened to me before too. There's a miscom somewhere along the line.

But overall, I've bought hundreds of ebooks from Kobo (yes I mean hundreds, maybe 500 or 600 or more ) and I've had a minute amount of problems, so all in all things do seem to work out.

Maybe it's just me. A few months ago I "bought" A Second Chance, the third in Jodi Taylor's The Chronicles of St. Mary's series but the book that actually downloaded was A Symphony of Echoes, the second book in the series. They finally gave me a refund for that one.

And, about a week ago I downloaded a free book that I didn't have any particular interest in (but it was free, so what the heck) and the book that downloads is a different book by the same author. Interestingly, the title that downloads doesn't seem to be available (under its own name) via Kobo.

Anyway, it just feels like when I buy at Kobo I'm not so much buying a book as a raffle ticket.

It'll just take a fairly substantial coupon code to get me to buy another book from them.

I hope that you're buying raffle tickets at the moment, because it seems that your lucks in.

And I hope you just don't win the consolation prize (which seems to be what happens when you buy from Kobo)

Current Kobo Contest

Hi all,
I hope this is the right place to ask this question. In the past I was able to register for and enter the Kobo Contests with no trouble. I am in the US, but in the registration for for the current contest the only two available options for country are UK and Canada. What is up with that?

That author/publisher has had known problems with books 2 and 3 in the series FOREVER. The author has supposedly been contacted multiple tries. No one seems to know how/why/what the problem is, but it was never uploaded correctly (Jodi Taylor is the author I'm referring to. I read the first in the series). I can't figure out why Kobo doesn't take the books down because it's been wrong for a seriously long time and either the publisher isn't willing or can't figure out how to fix it.

There's a link way back (two or three pages back now) -- you have to have a different link to the US. I'd link it but I only have the one with an affiliate code in it from my blog. But I promise someone linked to the US and also put up the canada/uk codes!!!

It must be a US thing. The captcha was the same difficulty as before, or even a little bit easier to read, and there was no notice about the passwords being more difficult. Mind you, I always used one capital letter and the rest as small case.

Kobo has a lot of books they know have problems that they choose to continue selling.
