I suppose the renderer just adds font weight when needed. This font is perfectly usable (regular, italic, bold and italic bold) in others software as well: Libreoffice, Freeplane, Gimp, Inkscape, Scribus, web browsers ...

Using FontCreator, EB Garamond 12 contains extended naming information. Try removing these internal names. I recently had some fonts that wouldn't work with the H2O until I removed these extended names.

Can I use Fontforge? I attached some dialogs from it. What do you suggest?

If you eject from Windows (doesn't matter how) and it is safe, the device will be ejected. After a few seconds calibre will detect this, and do the processing needed. If the device can't be ejected, you will get the "not safe to eject" message. Quote:

I'm not sure what could be happening. One thing I would try is to connect the device, but run nothing. Wait until Windows tells you it is ready and then eject. That should tell you if calibre or some other application you are using to access the device is getting in the way. Another thing to check is that Windows is not using it for "ReadyBoost" or some other program isn't using it for backup or something else. Either of these could interfere with the eject. |

The issue I am seeing with sleep mode is that the first page after waking from sleep is very light, but it goes back to normal after I turn the page. It doesn't seem to be related to the font weight adjustment, because even fonts that I have not adjusted are lighter than normal on the first page after waking from sleep. It happens in epubs and kobo-bought kepubs. Edit: About the device ejection: In Debian Linux the system eject function doesn't make my Glo exit from USB mode, but ejecting from Calibre does. Whatever Calibre is doing is different than the normal system eject. Last edited by GeoffR; 10-28-2014 at 11:00 PM. Reason: About device ejection ... |

I actually see this on Windows as well; a disconnect via calibre allows the device to go straight to processing new content while plugged in, whereas a disconnect in Kobo Desktop or via System Tray (either the standard Winodws icon, or the USB Safely Remove program) leave the Kobo in connected status.

I have renamed your EBGaramond 12 font files to try and fix this possible problem. Please try side-loading the following font files on your device: http://www54.zippyshare.com/v/7378563/file.html |

I've had my Glo since firmware version 2.1.5 (two years ago) and have never seen this problem before. It is a bit annoying because I have got into the habit of putting the device into sleep mode even for very short reading breaks, so I think I will just try to avoid doing that.
