I'm another who was fortunate enough to get a "good" Voyage. I picked it up at Best Buy rather than waiting for Amazon to get them back in stock. I can't find any evidence of the problems others have reported. I don't doubt that those reports are accurate; I just appear to have dodged the bullet.
Now if I could just find the leather origami case! I didn't think I would like the origami covers, but I was able to play with the less expensive version of them at BB and was very impressed. It may look like a smushed Predator face, but it's slim, well-made, and much more functional than it appears at first. I like that the cover "sticks" to the magnetic back when open, rather than flopping around loose. The fact that it opens like a notebook rather than a book didn't bother me, although I had expected it to. Anyway, I ordered it in leather on Amazon, but it won't ship till late November. |

VERY happy with my Voyage. The screen looks absolutely amazing (no coloration issues). I lined it up with my PW1 and PW2 and there is absolutely no comparison. Brighter, whiter, and sharper. Much more responsive as well. The page turn buttons work well but take some getting used to as I haven't had buttons since my original Nook. I also love the origami case. Makes it very thin and able to stand up like an easel case when I read at lunch. One happy reader here.

Is your voyage still indexing? Indexing drains the battery very quickly, but once it's over it should straighten out. If you put a large number of books on it, I would suspect indexing. Go to search then type a gibberish string ("zhag" or so), make sure "all my items" or whatever it is is selected then search. |

I have found the page turn buttons to be the most useful addition. Being able to turn the page without swiping makes reading much more comfortable for me. I'm left-handed, so the existence of the page buttons on the left side means that this is the first time I've really been able to read without using both hands. I have the buttons set to medium sensitivity, and have had no issues with accidental page turns, even though my thumb rests right on top of the button when holding the Kindle. That said, I would agree with some of the reviewers who have stated, "If you have a PW already, the Voyage probably isn't worth buying." Unless you really want the light sensor, flush screen, higher resolution, and page turn buttons, you won't find the Voyage to be a huge upgrade for you. I haven't noticed any greater speed or responsiveness, and the software is virtually (if not precisely) the same as on the PW. I upgraded because I wanted the page turn buttons. Also, my mother "inherits" my old readers, and she was really, really ready to get her paws on my PW. She's been using my old Sony PRS-300 for years! |

Not really asking me, but as I have a PW2 I thought I'd tell you what my results are. I have the same books on each device. I find that for most tasks the Voyage and the PW2 are pretty much the same speed and time to execute. The only noticeable difference is tapping on a book on the menu to when it opens. In that case the Voyage is marginally faster. In my experience, the speed difference is so little between the two devices that they are essentially the same.

So I have had the Voyage for over a week now, and I am still very happy with it. Great Display, fantastic contrast, and superb definition. Also still very happy with the origami cover, just wished BB had sold color ones. I got a black one, but will order a lemon or red one as soon as they are reduced. Yeah, wishful thinking, I know....

I wasn't going to get one, because I wasn't sure about using a reader with a flush screen, but I was at Best Buy, and they had them there, and, well, I'm a sucker. The screen is amazing--the text is sharper than I've seen in any reader.
If I look REALLY hard I can detect a faint gradient from slightly yellowish at the top to slightly bluish at the bottom of the screen, but really, it's only noticeable to me in certain lighting, and when I'm reading, I don't notice it at all. I put it out on a table with my Kobo Aura HD, Onyx T68, PW 1 & 2, and K4NT Silver, and had 4 different people look at them and asked which one had the clearest screen. Every single one of the people I asked picked the Voyage. This was in my dining room with pretty poor lighting. All devices were showing the same book, approximately the same page (as close as I could get to the same location in the book) approximately the same lighting level (except for the K4NT) and as close to the same font and font size as I could get. I'm glad I gave in to my impulse. Shari |

I am thrilled with my Voyage.
I was previously using a perfect PW2 and I loved it, but I am a serious reader, so I decided to upgrade to the Voyage and I am happy I did. While I didn't *need* the Voyage and $200 is alot of cash to drop on one, I am obsessed with reading so I managed to justify it to myself. Also, the deferred payment plan that Amazon offered me helped. I love everything about the Voyage (except for the Origami cover, which I hate). I received mine on Oct. 27, so I had a few days to read other's reviews and complaints about the Voyage screen and discoloration. I was really nervous that I would receive mine and be let down because of discoloration, but my screen is as close to perfect as you can get. |

After reading through several pages of comments, plus a few online reviews, I've decided to go with the leather origami case. Too bad I won't get my Voyage until the last week of December
