Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus, commonly known as Suetonius (c. 69 – after 122 AD), was a Roman historian belonging to the equestrian order who wrote during the early Imperial era of the Roman Empire.

His most important surviving work is a set of biographies of twelve successive Roman rulers, from Julius Caesar to Domitian, entitled De Vita Caesarum. He recorded the earliest accounts of Julius Caesar's epileptic seizures. Other works by Suetonius concern the daily life of Rome, politics, oratory, and the lives of famous writers, including poets, historians, and grammarians. A few of these books have partially survived, but many have been lost.

You're quite welcome Alex. It's interesting that a book written so long ago has managed to survive to the present day. I wonder what Suetonius would have said if someone were to have told him that his words (in translation) would still be read this long after he 1st penned them.

You might wonder the same thing about Aristophanes and Euripides who both had versions of their plays uploaded recently. The plays were written millennia ago.

Touche. And even Shakespeare (who wrote his plays long after) might be amazed that his name and plays are still known today. A good story or a well written book meant to inform seems to stand the test of time (sometimes with a bit of luck).
