They do have them at the Best Buys in Canada, but not in the USA for some reason. I saw that on this Kobo website.

They never seem to carry them. It's disappointing. The only US bricks and mortar stores I recall seeing them in were the old Borders many years back when Kobo first started making e-readers. Although I think they used to carry the Aura or the Glo at Best Buy in the US, but I'm not certain.

Oh yes, I should have specified Best Buy's in the US. I do know they have them at Best Buys in Canada.

I thought sure I saw an Aura HD on the BB site at one point, though I wouldn't have ordered it at the time. I was waiting for the H20 and the Voyage so that I could compare.

So much about "global economy".
And that's even within the EU...
Anyway...
I've ordered from Amazon US and UK often enough.
You can use your original credit card. All you'd need is a local address.
If you send me a PM, I can give you my address. Have it sent to me, I can forward it to you then.

Got mine today at the local best buy. The screen is perfect, the page turn buttons were set to medium and I set them to light. I have spent an hour or so reading with it and I like it very much. Smaller than the H2O, but I haven't compared the two side by side yet. I like both, not sure which I like the best, but so far so good on both of these.

The demo unit at the local best buy looked great. Came home to find that my voyage is being prepared for shipment. Fingers crossed.

Got my Kindle Voyage on day 1 (10/21).

My screen has hundreds of dead pixels stuck on black so it looks like tiny black flecks are scattered all over the screen. I tried resetting the device, turning on page refresh, etc. but the black pixels/flecks never go away.

I checked against my Kindle Paperwhite 2. I see a few dead pixels on this as well but no where near the number on my Kindle Voyage.

Anyone else have this?

FYI, I also have slight tint differences between the top and bottom of the screen but it doesn't really bother me as much as the dead pixels do. I actually chalk this up to slight brightness differences due to the fact that the LEDs are on the bottom of the screen so the top is slightly dimmer than the bottom.

I haven't seen that issue. Can you post a photo?

I have this black flecks issue mostly on the upper part of my screen. I think Xendula mentioned it many pages ago too. The first thing I did was compare it to my PW2 as well which doesn't have this problem. I don't notice them unless the light is turned up over really high so I think I'll live with it. I don't think a picture would capture it well. Not as annoying as the light pinholes were on the PW2 models though!

I have the screen color issue as well. Undecided how I feel about that yet. Just got it this afternoon at Best Buy and need to try it out for a few days.

Here you go. Sorry about the poor photo quality. Good camera but horrible technique. My wife doesn't let me take family photos either.

I just chatted with Amazon CS and they're sending a replacement to me for Wed delivery.

By the way, I probably wouldn't have ever noticed these flecks if I wasn't looking so hard at the screen to try to figure out if I had the tint/hue problem that other people were talking about.

I've heard about these services, also in the US. What stops me from buying in Germany is that if something is wrong with my Kindle I would have to deal with them and my German is really really bad.

Thank you for the offer.
For now I'm still on the fence what to do (get a PW2, get a Voyage, wait to see if the Voyage improves in a couple of months or wait for the next Voyage). I'm going to London in January, if I have decided by then what I want to do I might buy the Kindle I want at a Waterstones.

I think this is the way the screen is supposed to look. I've seen two voyages and they both have it.

It is supposed to look like that. Sometimes the black spots are rather large though. That's annoying...

Thanks for the image. Fortunately I don't see that issue on mine. I hope your replacement is better. And if you don't easily see an imperfection like the color tinting don't go looking for it!

If it's anything like mine, you don't have to look for it. It's there and obvious.
