Kindle Voyage - First Impressions - Page 35

I've finally cancelled my Voyage order. I'm very happy with my Kobo Aura H20 and have decided that paying £169 plus the cost of a case just wasn't worth it for a secondary ereader. I'm going to get a Kobo Glo for travelling so my H20 stays at home.

Hubby will still have my PW2 and I have a reasonable PW1. I'll think about a PW2 as I would like the 4GB storage, the one I ordered had a light leak from the frame so I returned it, and will decide what to do in a month or too, once I've seen a demo Voyage in a store.

It will take an awful lot now to return me to the Kindle fold.

Saw this and called immediately. I was originally told my replacement would ship the first week of November. And I would be emailed by the representative when additional information was available.

Made a polite stink about the situation. No pushback from anyone this time. Told the rep folks spoke to customer service today and will have a replacement Monday. She immediately processed things and said expect it Monday. Checked that order and it says shipping soon, guaranteed delivery the 27th.

I received mine with next day shipping, but that didn't help. :-/ Worse than #1.

FWIW, I just got one from Best Buy and the screen is perfect. It really *is* a nice e-reader and that kind of surprises me because I didn't think it would be as big of an improvement over the PaperWhite as it is.

Still, if Kobo would ever get their distribution act together in The States, I'd probably get an H2O as well, because of the sdcard, the bigger screen and the typography control.

I agree, I really wish they sold the H20 here. Does anyone know if there's plans to sell it here in the states?

Wow, I just got the text message from Amazon saying they already shipped my replacement. That was fast--about 2.5 hours after talking with CS. Maybe they want to see if I will update my 2 star review!

Me too. Tracked it and it says it's coming from Whitestown IN (same as the first one). What about yours?

From same place as yours. The first one came FedEx, but this one is coming USPS. FedEx delivers to my door, but USPS usually just drops things off at the apartment office. Argggh. Oh well, at least it will get here Monday. I sure hope it is a good one, but I'm not optimistic given their track record.

Thank you. I do know they sell Kobos at some of the indie book stores near me, but never the H20.

I asked one near me when, or if, they expect to get the H20 and they said they don't think they will, only the Aura. So I'm not sure what to make of that. I would love to see them show up at Best Buy.
