each and everybody. The solution to the pollution (in my case at least) was to use calibre to adjust margins to 1.0 Everything seems to be in order now. Read on, everyone. Last edited by mr_nihilism; 10-23-2014 at 04:49 PM. |

To fix this you should apply the 'Margins fine tuning' patch only. <Patch> patch_name = `Margins fine tuning` patch_enable = `yes` # # Do not enable this patch unless you're sure you need it. # It may cause the screen to be off-centre. # # Initial replaces replace_bytes = 9A9D88, 19 46, 00 21 replace_bytes = 9A9D8C, 1A 46, 00 22 # Values for replace # Left margin replace_int = 9A9D88, 0, 00 # Top margin replace_int = 9A9D8C, 0, 00 </Patch> The red values are the default values, green are the modified values. Only change the green values or the patch won't work. 00 are the values I use. Use a value < 21 and < 22 that suits you. This might fix cut off characters at the end of a line. This patch might not work if the cut off is triggered by a 'hard margin' or @page rule. Last edited by Anak; 10-23-2014 at 04:45 PM. |

Good info to have, Anak. Calibre adjustments seem to do the trick, but if I run into any other trouble I'll use that.

Is there a setting in 3.11.0 that will refresh the current page upon waking from sleep? When my Aura HD wakes, the ghost image of the front cover is so noticeable that it interferes with the text on the page. This didn't happen with 3.8.0. I'd prefer a refresh on waking rather than setting my page refresh to 1. Any way to do this?

![]() I see no reason to put down a good feature you don't use and surely you can at least see that it's a good feature, maybe not for you, but if the feature makes sense, then why complain about it especially if you are not using it. I also will put the device down and slide the light off and walk away, maybe for an hour, maybe longer, and I don't worry about killing the battery as it runs forever without the light or wifi active - not comfortable sleeping the device right now because when the device wakes up, the screen is frozen and I have to power down/up to resolve the issue. I get your reason concerning adding new features and not fixing bugs and maybe that applies to the above feature, although, that does not seem like a hard feature to implement since the touch screen is already part of the device so I can't see much coding involved as they are just calling another aspect of code already written into the device for light adjustments. We are not sure how the company operates as they may have a team of developers dedicated to bug fixes and a different team dedicated to new features. Still, I can't argue with the fact that maybe everyone should have been directed to fix the bugs first, then move on. I have worked in IT and supported the development team and pushed all their releases to production and although they (dev team) may have wanted to fix bugs, sometimes management has a different idea. Many times, the people that decide what get's fixed have already committed to a schedule to release certain new features and plenty of times those new features were being demanded by senior management so one can never fully understand software release logic (per particular company) when clueless people are making the final decisions, especially being on the outside. |
