This just in! Due to a minor SNAFU, the release date of the hardcover compilation of War Cry has been pushed back a bit. The new dates are:

11/19: Direct Market
11/25: Book Market.

“Direct Market” refers to dedicated comics stores, including online comics stores like Dynamite and Midtown Comics. “Book Market” is everything else, including brick-and-mortar bookstores and sites like Amazon and B&N.

As a peace offering, here’s a five-page section from issue #2 of the graphic novel.



This 144-page hardcover collects all five issues of the original Harry Dresden War Cry comic book series by Jim Butcher, Mark Powers, and Carlos Gomez. It also features the complete comic book cover illustrations from Stjepan Sejic and Carlos Gomez!

You can preorder your copy from your favorite local comic store, Amazon, B&N, or Dynamite. Dynamite is also offering copies signed by Jim! Supply of the signed edition is limited, so if you’re interested, definitely jump on that opportunity!

I am seriously considering reading Dead Beat just because it is almost Halloween. It always gets me in the mood...

Has anyone already seen the message that the first part of the Cinder Spires is sent to the publisher? The tweet from last week does not bode well. It seems that his wife had a good influence on his writing speed when they were together.

I always thought of re-reading the Dresden files, just that I didn't have a specific time to. I used to borrow the books from the local library (that's how I got to knew about the Dresden Files) but the only problem was that I didn't read the series in order due to the issue of availability. Now I have all the books in the series in paperback and e-book format (except Skin Game, still waiting for paperback ), I think I am more or less ready to re-read it, this time in order to recap and enjoy the ride again. Halloween seems like a good time to start!

Sometimes it is sad to reread Dresden Files - the wait for the next book will be so long. I am starting to think Jim is slow on purpose - he used to be faster. To distract myself I am reading a lot of different books and genres. Maybe not so much all different - it is mostly SF now. But different from urban fantasy. Not sure if I want to try a different world than The Dresdenverse. At the moment it is Breakthrough by Michael C. Grumley.
