Hi guys, according to this site... "After cycling the light from high to low a few times, I didn’t notice any discoloration." Have you guys tried that?

Kindle Voyage Jailbreak for Fonts

Hi! I've just bought the new Kindle Voyage FW 5.6.0.1. I'd like to add my personal font as I did on K4 version.
Do you know how to do it?
Thanks

Yep, and it's nonsense (in my eyes). Didn't make any difference to three Voyage units.

I very much doubt that's possible. It hasn't been possible at all on the PW2 or the PW1 since the firmware upgrade to add the Cloud Collections.

You need to use one of the inbuilt fonts

Not exactly. Some people complain that they cannot turn off the light.

I.e. I've seen someone write that he wants to turn off the light during daytime because it annoys his eyes. Considering the light of the PW2 is at lowest setting so dim that it is basically not usable for reading in a completely dark room I find that a bit "make-believe". A white paper reflects during daytime more light than a PW2 emits at lowest brightness.

Guys... For those with color issue, I wonder if this helps.

"I had the yellow/blue screen. I believe it is a glue issue in the manufacturing process. If you are fortunate to have good weather (like we have in SoCal right now,) leave your kindle voyage in the sun for a couple of hours. This worked for my voyage."

Here's a picture of PW2 (left) and Voyage. Font size is 2nd from the left (publisher font). Very readable for me at that setting. Much less page turning now. On the PW2 I had to use 4th from the left.
This picture shows the difference between the lights clearly. My PW2 and Voyage (which I already returned) look the same. You should post this on the Amazon Voyage review page.

I am still waiting for the moment when Amazon updates the Voyage page to show how the light truly looks, like they did for PW1. I need some validation

An amazon customer rep called me (without me requesting a call) yesterday after seeing my review on their voyage page. They supposedly had a way of getting a replacement to me sooner. I already got a refund when they told me it would take another month to get a replacement. I would had tried a replacement at first but after reading all the reviews and looking at all the pictures I am convinced that many devices (if not all of them) look like this. There is no point in getting a replacement. At least, I am not willing to take that chance. This is the first time I have a customer rep call me, clearly Amazon is on high alert about this.

I went to a Best Buy yesterday to look at the Voyager (I'm a Kobo owner). BB's site said they had them in stock, so...

There were no Kindles or Fires on display. They had torn down the display the previous night, and the Amazon rep was supposed to setup the new display.

The rep had a demo unit, and let me play with it. My comments:

The rep was very nice.

For reading the screen looked nice. On the home screen (the one that shows covers), it looked gorgeous; it put my Kobo Glo to shame.

The buttons seemed fine, better than I remember on my Nook ST. It did miss a few presses. The rep said on the demo units, the settings menu was locked, so I wasn't able to fiddle with the button sensitivity. The buttons was one of things I was particularly interested in, so this is disappointing.

I asked about the Voyage at other B&M stores, and he said it would be exclusively at BB for the initial rollout.

I'm no expert but my guess would be the colour change across the screen would be down to colour variance between LEDs or whatever they use as a light source or some other hardware issue. So I dont think software would fix this.

Auto brightness - I'd suspect theres a better chance that that is software relates or could be fixed that way.

But all this is just a guess...

One simple improvement they could make

The Kindle has an LED to indicate that its charging/charged. I'm told that its amber when charging and green when fully charged. Me, I'm colour blind so I've absolutely no idea if this is true or not!

THE most common form of colour blindness is in the Red/Green area, far more men then women are colour blind.

How about flashing light = charging - light on constantly = fully charged. They can make the light whatever colour they like then it wont make any difference.

As wife and mother of two red/green color blind male specimens, I heartily agree!

A rep called me as well. I accepted the exchange. New unit will be here tomorrow. The defective (I hope) is going directly to the Amazon labs for review. This sounds like a good thing, but I am still stunned at how this happened in the first place.

I will update everyone on my replacement unit tomorrow. I will give Amazon credit for the phone call and the 1 day turn-around time. They quickly corrected a big customer service issue.

That is some old BS from the PW1 era. It turned out to be rubbish, or wishful thinking....
