All Readers with a front light have not bright enough to too bright. Doesn't matter the brand and model.

I'm glad you stated that, Jon. I wanted feedback on the color of the flaw. I agree, it looks pinkish in person.

This is terrible. The thing I feared most is true. It hurts all over my hand to hold it. All the hard edges cut into me. Unless I can find a silicone skin it will have to go back. It also slips right out of my hand unless I rest it in my palm and then it cuts into my palm. I have fibro and don't think I can take the pain. I really wish they hadn't moved to all hard/sharp edges. Huge disappointment for me. :'(

I'm ordering a PW2 right now. I would order an H20, but I don't want to pay return shipping if I get a bad screen.

Thanks Jack! I do really like my PW2, but I would love a reader with sharper fonts, but the two toned screen on my voyage just bothers me too much. It's very pronounced on mine. Best of luck with yours. I hope it works for you outside and in a dim room. The fonts certainly are so much better and sharper on it.

I wonder the same. He just comes on here solely to beat up on kindles it seems. I appreciate good honest reviews, but it seems he has an agenda to bash kindles and yet has never even owned one. Strange. I really don't see the point.

I've got arthritis really bad as well as carpel tunnel syndrome, so thin might look really cool but it is not comfortable for holding! I always have to get thick covers before I can comfortably hold readers phones, tablets. I tried balancing the Voyage on one finger at the bottom while gripping it with the thumb and other fingers sans cover, and the sharp bottom was uncomfortable for sure. As soon as I decide whether to keep it, if I do keep it I will have to get a cover.

My main use for the light would be when ambient light is too dim to read by, so I could live with one that only showed tone variation when bright.

I thought some people have complained that under dark conditions some readers do not get dim enough.

By the way, the point of my original post was to know the range of numbers, since people were throwing numbers around, and for all I knew, it went to 100. I had no idea what 12 or 13 meant. I assumed it went from dim to bright.

I agree. I keep hitting them by accident. If they had added something for your fingers to know they are sitting on a "button", it woudl help, but i find that I either am not pressing in the right spot, or I grab the darn reader by the pageturn buttons and lose my place in the book. Even if they had indented the lines and dots, it would help, but unless I am looking at them, I find them harder to use than just touching the screen.

Seriosuly, they need to have real world users testing their prototypes

It's a very unfortunate focus for device makers, this obsession with thin over ergonomics. It's sad to hear your and pghaworth's experiences. One of the big factors that might get me to order a Voyager someday is a reduction in weight vs my NTB + the lighted case. That case is unnecessarily hefty. But if the ergonomics aren't there... a case to soften the edges wouldn't help me. I'd just be adding that weight back and paying a whole lot for the privilege.

I do agree.

Is nice that is lightweight, but to me is harder to hold. Is so small that the bezels are too narrow so makes it harder to find a proper grip. And I have small hands by the way.

I think I can tolerate that but I would have preferred bezels like the ones on the PW2, for example.

I have both arthritis and carpal tunnel combined with Fibromyalgia. I don't like covers (too heavy to hold and causes pain) and only use one - the right one - to prop in restaurants, etc. I would need a silicone case like I have on my Note 3 and that's not happening any time soon.

Not sure I mentioned it above, but I also have the screen issue. I can also see all kinds of little multi-colored pixels, all over the screen. It's almost like increasing the pixels count did something weird. My PW1 is uneven, but at least it's only at the bottom unlike the Voyage.

The all glass, no separate bezel makes it harder to hold, too, because it's so slick. I'm sure many will love it, but Amazon sure wasn't thinking about ALL of their readers when they designed it.

Yes! And they need to consider all their users, not just ones their age. Clearly, no one older that maybe 30 ever tested this Kindle.

It's pretty, but it's also pretty impractical IMO.
