8.1 has put paid to my annoyances... the disappearance of the camera roll and photostream. Both have returned and all is right with the world. Working well on all 3 devices (5S, iPad3, and first gen iPad Mini)

So, can I throw caution to the wind and upgrade next weekend? I'm still on 7. Any word on how 8.1 does on iPhone 4S?

Some apps that did not give me notices with iOS 8 nd iOS 8.02 are now working again. Seems 8.1 fixes a number of bugs that never should have made it to 8.0.

And two days later, we now have a jailbreak. That was fast! These guys might end up fixing stuff before Apple does, har har har.

Are any of you using Mac OS X Yosemite and the built-in Mail app? How is it? Does it play nice with the Mail apps on the iPhone/iPad? I'm getting really frustrated with the Mail app on Mavericks. It doesn't always receive all the mail I get, and when it does receive mail it is often a LONG time after it shows up on my iPhone 5 and iPad mini Retina. Frequently I have to completely quit Mail on Mavericks and reopen it, then it suddenly loads a bunch a new email. Piece of junk. Part of the issue might be that I use GoDaddy as my mail server and web server, and GoDaddy might not be playing nice with Mavericks. But I think most of it is the sucky Mail app in Mavericks. I'm really hesitant to upgrade to Yosemite and slow down my Mac Mini 2012 model, but if Mail really is a huge improvement I might go ahead and upgrade.

I'm downloading Yosemite as I write this. It's a sloooow 5+ gig download, so it may be tomorrow before I have an answer to that question.

I now have Yosemite installed and the mail app synced to my Outlook account. So far so good.

I use iCloud for my mail, not having any issues here.

I use my GoDaddy IMAP account so in theory their mail servers should should keep all my mail folders organized, and all my mail apps across all devices should pull the info from the GoDaddy IMAP account server. This system works well with my Win 8.1 laptop using Thunderbird, and it works well on my iPhone 5 and iPad mini Retina using the resident Mail app. Both iPhone and iPad are still running iOS 7. But for some reason the resident Mavericks Mail app seems dysfunctional. It often fails to retrieve all my mail. It goes nuts when I try to use it to cleanup mail folders. So I'm hoping the resident Mail app in Yosemite as way better. I don't use iCloud as I prefer to use my GoDaddy mail server to be compatible with more than just Apple devices.
