It's pretty easy to take a picture of a Voyage with your phone, at a reasonable backlight level - and post it on here. Pictures outside or under super-bright lights aren't helpful, fyi.

Unless we make noise about this, the issue will never be fixed! How many years has this non-uniformity issue been going on for now?

I agree with your sentiments for the most part. It also helps if you use the brightness less than 10. This will most likely mask any screen issue for most people in a well lit situation.

Yeah I remember seeing those multiple times when I try to get a good PW1 as well. Finally settled with a PW1 with very small blob of light but with no pink.

I'll be trying my luck with a Voyage since I can get one from BestBuy at ~162 USD (Coupon+cashback) but if it bothers me I'll just return it for refund after I place an order for H2O

These look similar to mine, although the text on mine looks more sharp and dark. But as far as the big yellow blob at the upper third of the screen, they look like mine when the light level is high.

Um... At which setting does it appear? If only among the high settings 15+, then I wont care.

I can confirm this. I just tested it and the only thing those PT buttons do in Landscape mode is cause the menu bar to appear. Bummer. I think Amazon will probably fix this though as it was most likely an oversight rather than a stupid decision.

Wow! I hope you're right.

For those of you who remember and had the Sony PRS-300 and/or PRS-350, then you might remember that some of them came with a custom made Case Logic zippered, protective case. I still have my case and the case dwarfs the Voyage, so the Voyage is definitely quite a bit smaller than the old Sony 5" screen readers. See attached photos.

Mine is much less pronounced than the images he posted, but you can see the blob easily at level 22, you can still barely see it at 12, it is okay at 10, but by the time I get to level 10 the screen is tinted blue! These settings are in my well lit study BTW. A dark room will most likely yield different results.

I hope they fix it as I like using Landscape mode from time to time. I really wish Amazon would use a few of us hardcore reader folks to help them pretest new Kindles. I guarantee we would catch mistakes and oversights like that!

I sure wish they would add two-column reading to Landscape mode too. I'm guessing that won't ever happen.

No turn page function in landscape was awkward. To get it out of sleep I had to push the power button and swipe to get rid of the special offers page. Nothing really worked the way it was supposed to.
